GTA V

GTA V had a great single player storyline, but once that was done, it gathered dust.

The online was massively disappointing. Couldn't get past the car race for days, then when I did, it deleted my progress so I had to restart 4 times. Then when it did stabilise, everything in the game was so damn expensive. It became apparent that in order to buy anything, you'd have to spend ages grinding repetitive jobs or pay for micro transactions. Plus the cops were too much of a pain in the backside compared to older games.

The final straw was when Rockstar decided to reduce payouts on jobs to make it harder to amass cash to buy things so wound up trading it in for store credit. Never trust Rockstar when it comes to online gaming! They're awful.

I desperately want to buy the golf course, but unfortunately I never listened to Lester and his stock tips, so looks like I'll have to start again.

Although I'm pretty certain only Michael can buy the golf course? So not sure what to do.

What percent are you all up to, in single player mode? I've just hit 90%, now I've got to go find all 50 letter pieces, and all 50 spaceship parts.

Also, any other mug here get robbed in to that cult mission, where you have to wonder the desert for five (real) miles?

I just realized THE game of my childhood was actually racist...............

This is GTA we're talking about, the game tries to embody every ridiculous stereotype in existence.

Are you being serious?

Assuming you're talking to me then yes.

The game is a giant social commentary. The radio ads, the conversations people have on the street etc. It's genius.

Where (as Trevor) do you find hitchikers that you can deliver to the cult? I found one but hit an RV on a bend and the impact threw my car into a river.

there are quite a few and not necessarily hitchhikers ...I think any random event (the flashing beacons not the question mark) that requires a lift is fair game

Look at the rockstar social club checklist and on the map deselect all but random events>not found, hover over the random events thumbnails and you might get clues who needs a pickup (hitch lift 1, hitch lift 2 and such) go to the blip

On my mobile so not sure if the white blips include a description if the event :(

You get the idea:)

Tried the Online thing finally.

I am awful.

Came last in every race. Even managed to die in the tutorial.. was some sort of death match thing...it started, I walked through a door, and got shot in the face.

I know online has been disappointing so far but they're introducing heists on 10th March so things should get more exciting.

I can't see how people say online is disappointing, has nobody tried the missions with others and/or user created races that take ages to complete?

I got the game on release, then got it on next gen and still it's probably my most played game!

I find it dull as I want to do more than just race. I'd buy a racing game for that. I want to do Heists, which is coming soon so that's good.

But there is user created missions, capture, etc too! I can't see heists being much different from those really.

The downside to online is that they're getting more on top of glitches, and payouts are pretty minimal. It's all to gain more profit in buying shark cards.

Getting into the deathmatches more and more but I think heists will be good if you have a crew to do them with.

Only saw a bit, but all just looks the same!

GTA 4 was faaaaarrr too long for me, couldnt wait to finish it.

For me nothing will beat Vice City for game play enjoyment, what a game that was. Loved it!

Not just the game but also the radio stations. Noting will ever come close to that game.

I don't see how online is disappointing either.. I agree the missions once all completed at least once get boring and the rockstar created races. But there are thousands of user created races that are added every day.

I always play user created races with the my friends whilst on skype.. endless fun, although if you're stuck in the rockstar created races then sure, it can get dull. Dwell into the player-created content, it's an evergrowing community.

I can't wait for heists, I think the payouts will be near to 25K on the regular because realistically speaking you can't start handing out millions to players. But I hope the gameplay aspect of them will be fantastic. What I'm hoping for is for Rockstar to create more missions on the go, I can't see why not as they're constantly creating featured events so creating and adding missions into the game shouldn't be hard.

IMO the online is pants, We were promised Heists and they are only just bringing them out now the online is dull and repetative and I've not touched the game since I completed it last year.

Personally I hate racing so those racing missions online I avoid at all costs, even hate the ones in the actual main story.

Do you mean rockstar created races or user-created? Do you usually play by yourself or with friends?

Both.

Racing games just don't do it for me. My least favourite part of GTA has always been racing missions or timed driving ones.

I play with friends on games like FIFA, COD etc.
