The murky world that Gerrard lives in

Featured Replies

I wonder why he never did leave Liverpool back in 2005.

The 2 'rumours' I heard at the time were, 1- These gangsters said, you are not leaving, simple as that. 2- They threatened to make Gerrard's wife's coke addiction public.

Also heard that he was halfway down the motorway to Chelsea when these people called him. Probably not remotely true but who knows...

Well, at least Gerrard himself is fundamentally decent.

Unless your a barman, of course.

Been a number of rumours saying that Gerrard isnt allowed to leave Liverpool football club because of this underworld link hence why he didnt join Chelsea. Also heard Joe cole got a warning when his motor was stolen and i assume thats why Joe never moved there!

Details, details! It's all in the word "fundamentally", you see.

Gerrard Is a fundament?

I heard that at the time, Liverpool was in financial trouble, and Gerrard was willing to go in order to keep them solvent. I had no idea about this.  Christ on a bike.

If it were about John Terry this thread would be 12 pages of posts about how we should never trust the dirty big media Daily Mail conspiracy.

However since this is about Steven Gerrard it's practically gospel.

I take it with a shaker of salt, since it is, after all, the Daily Fail.  What I meant was I had no idea about that angle.

I thought it was common knowledge that Gerrards move to us was scuppered by threats to his family.

The tone of that article seems vaguely sympathetic to Gerrard, and by and large I never heard any calls for Gerrard to be dropped from the England squad because of personal matters.

Stephen Gerrard obviously knows some dodgy people as do many footballers I suspect, but the way things are reported in the press can differ depending on the Footballer in question, for instance the papers still mention the drunken, rowdy behaviour of John Terry at Heathrow on 911, but you'd be hard pressed to remember that Eidur Gudjonson and Frank Lampard were both with him, and equally drunk and rowdy.

I will never understand why the press seem to have an agenda against JT, it can't just be because he plays for us, maybe they know something we don't. But there is no doubt in my mind that he gets treated differently from other high profile footballers. Perhaps one day we'll find out.

I guess there's just a long line of accusations against him, coupled with the fact that hes one of the best defenders in premier league history who loves Chelsea (who most non chelsea people dislike majorly).

JT just made 10M profit on his house sale.

Probably wont endear him any further to the hacks !

One of the red tops ran a front page (yes, front as in their main story) about how he had remortgaged his home three times whilst getting money together to build his new (though they didn't mention, bigger) house.

Here we are about 2 years on I believe and JT's made a tidy little profit on selling the house he remortgaged, it couldn't be that he was actually receiving professional financial advise all along and knew exactly what he was going could it?

Nah, not the pantomime villain that is JT......

It's been said a lot, and I believe that it all comes down to "haters gonna hate."

Oh, and I have a facebook friend that's a .MU fan, and is conviced that Shrek is a "saint" because of the 911incident.
