Barcelona Friendly?

I think every Chelsea fan would say the same Val.  a) it's Barcelona  b) it's mid-season  c) it's Barcelona  d) it's in Qatar  e)  It's Barcelona  f) it's a pointless friendly  g) it's Barcelona h) they're c**ts

"we" as in the fans don't but "we" as in Chelsea do.

Not if we want to keep up our global brand push. Of course if it wasn't for SayNoCPO we might have a choice.

TBH I wouldn't mind strolling across to Qatar, putting out a semi-reserve team and leaving a few marks on Neymar & co so soon before their Champions League knockout matches.

And supposing the Barca players feel the same about kicking the sh*t out of us?  No thanks.

And the "global brand push" does not come into it compared to the ludicrousness (ludicrocity?!) of a mid-season "friendly" against one of our most hated teams in a stupid climate.  And bringing SNCPO into it adds nothing.

Not really their style though is it? Teams go off to Qatar & other middle-Eastern countries for mid-season breaks all the time, and one match in a well-conditioned stadium for £ms seems more than worth it. Of course we'd be in a better position to SayNo to this additional game if we had the prospect of larger stadium proceeds on the way if Jose wished (not that we definitely would), but as it is we have no option but to continue to pursue every single commercial interest elsewhere to any detriment.

Absolutely right Fatty_Speeding, I blame the ills of the club and the need to make money on those darstardly fans that handed over their money in a time of massive need to secure the future of the club.  Bunch of scumbags.

How dare they, dont they know the damage they caused by helping to keep us in existence.

Succinctly put Barn.  I had wondered how to address this part of Fatty's post and had tried to put together a response but gave up as I felt ill-equipped to address the issue but this just sums it up.

What's your point?

What we know is the club is doing everything to make sure that we are in a position to meet the ever-tightening FFP rules as they continue to hit us, and with no prospect of making up the ever-increasing ~£50m we lose on a stadium income compared to our European rivals every year on the horizon, when an opportunity such as this match presents itself we have to take it. SayNoCPO scare-mongered the "no" vote back in 2011 which likely extends our stadium deficit indefinitely into the future, so you have no grounds to whine about this probable fixture AND defend them.

Bear in mind criticism of SayNoCPO is not criticism of CPO per se.

I say go ahead and bring home that scrilla, that cash money. Bleed the Qataris for as much as we can get. I bet it ain't a bad place to train for a few days either.

Disgrace image we.could be nobody now, I wish my family never bought shares because if we didn't who would people have to moan about
