Man City v Chelsea (PL) 03/02/14 KO 20:00 GMT

Featured Replies

Without a doubt the most important game of the season thus far.

Manchester City's home form is dangerous to say the least but I think we'll setup strong and keep them out.

Toure is suspended for them for this game and there is a chance Aguero could be absent with a hamstring injury. Still, even when they're missing those two players they are extremely dangerous with players like Navas, Negredo, Nasri... the list just goes on.

They have a lot more firepower up front than we do and we certainly cannot out-score them so conceding more than one is not an option. A draw would not be an utter disaster but we need all three points from this.

My heart says we'll win this and make a statement for our title challenge, my head on the other hand says this will either be a close draw or they will overwhelm us.

a point be great result for you. yes you be four behind us but we then have to play united and liverpool and if we don,t win both game then you be back within two of us after feb 12th.

city game is must not lose so think jose will park the bus and has to really.

Why do people keep saying Toure is suspended, loads mentioning it on twitter. Hes on 5 yellows you need 10 to get a suspension.

With Aguero probably out I think Pellegrini will set us up like this.

.................................Hart.....................

Zaba.............Komp.................Demi..............Kolarov..

....................Yaya..................Fern....................

Navas..............................................Silva

.................Negredo.......Jovetic/Dzeko..................

Would like to see Jovetic get a start but got feeling Dzeko will get the nod.

Huge game if city win I think we're in pole position for the title as the next 6 games look extremely winnable. Home to Stoke, Fulham, Villa and Sunderland while away at Norwich and Hull.

Not confident, City and pretty awesome at the moment. However I will not say more than that, as to be negative going in to a game draws criticism on here.

Hope to be proven wrong and we play a fantastic game against a pretty amazing opponent.

Now then Shedders... I'm only gonna post in this thread the once. If City win, i'll do the honourable thing and steer clear until you lot have a chance to lick your wounds. If you win i'll come and congratulate you. May the best team win and all that Malrky. I don't really need to go into detail of how we will line up etc. We all pretty much know how City play. The question is, can you stop us at the Etihad?

It will be a very nervy affair imo.... See you lot on Tuesday... (When City will be 6 points ahead of you  )

Yaya Toure is not suspended as far as i know, don't know where thats coming from. Silva is the danger man for me. Silva vs Oscar kind of typifies the styles of the two managers.

Pellegrini will probably go with the 4-4-2 this time round, so I see a real chance to get hold of the midfield and do what Bayern did to them.

C'mon Chelsea! ::ChELSeAFaN::

I think it's going to be painful, tbh. A possible Man City master-class? It took Jose quite a few games at Real to finally suss Barcelona. Same here? They will bully us. Parking the bus won't work against this lot. 0-3 to City.

The game we had at home:
- Torres missed a clear cut chance and also hit the bar

- Aguero scored but only because Cech had a brainfart and was beaten at the near post

- City were actually playing to their full ability

- We won with luck but we never looked like losing

Also Aguero probably won't be playing and we tightened the defence since leaking 6 against Stoke and Sunderland and now have the best defensive record in the PL.

And the most crucial trend is that our players might underestimate weaker teams quite often, but we almost always turn up against strong teams.

Bring it!!!

There is only one side that can match city and that is us. People are saying we will park the bus like West Ham did to us but that is just silly. Will we be defensive? Yes, but unlike West Ham we will look to counter because unlike West Ham we have some world class players. City will come forward and that will give us plenty of opportunities to punish them. Didn't we beat these guys already? Nah.. must have been a dream.

If we won we'd be level on points but behind in goal difference. Some people will still meltdown. :face_palm:

Going for narrow City victory or a 0-0. We have the best defensive record in the league, we're not going to be shipping stupid amounts of goals against anybody.

Not a clue how we'll line up but I would personally go:

Cech, Ivan, Cahill Terry, Azpi, Matic, Luiz, Hazard, Oscar, Willian, Eto'o

I think we'll be nice and compact and try and nick a goal from a set piece or counter. If we get the first goal I could see us really digging our heels in and taking something from the game, if they get the first I'm a bit worried what will happen.
