Paul Pogba - Needs to Sign!

Featured Replies

We had Cole, Luiz, Ake and Kalas covering for us last year. You can argue we were lucky in avoiding big injuries to the back four, but It's really not a massive difference in quality from last years squad to this one IMO. Still ended up with the best defence in the league.

One more experienced head wouldn't hurt but I don't think it's a huge issue if we don't get anyone either.

The thing about that is since Azpilicueta was playing at LB, we still had a competent LB in Cole who could jump in when needed.  Luiz was capable of playing both CB and HB if he had.  I wouldn't have been as worried if Kalas hadn't been loaned out.  That would allow Kalas and Zouma to backup the CBs, Bertrand to back up Luis, and Ivanovic to backup Azpilicueta or the CBs.

A sensible post when it comes to player sales at last!

All is well saying we can sell Cech, Torres, Ivanovic, Ramires, Mikel and Ba along with the likes of Moses, Marin, PVA and Romeu but in reality it isn't feasible.

For instance the chance of us even being able to sell Torres on a free transfer is minimal. No team in the world would pay him the same wage he's getting here. Could be a similar scenario with the likes of Mikel.

Ivanovic? He is going no where and shouldn't imo. He will split time with Azi and play in the center as well. Next season he may take the reigns from JT and be the captain.where I think he will excel. My feeling anyway. Thoughs?

Pogba thread.

There is nothing new on Pogba and frankly all the rumors seem to have died down now. Certainly not the only thread to stray from its topic but I get it. You like playing Mr Authority. Let me guess you are a teacher, lawyer, or cop?

He's probably just someone coming unto the Pogba thread seeing a new post thinking there is a Pogba update only to trawl through a number of posts with nothing to do with the title thread.

You're right though it does happen in other threads and I've been guilty of it too.

Roll on the new season, people are getting touchy.

I'm your father.

We're favourites to sign him according to Skybet. Put $100 on him to stay at Juve, if he does you'll be a rich man and if he doesn't he will be in a Chelsea shirt. Win win :)

Having said that he will probably end up at PSG

PSG and City have near limitless money and don't give a sh*t about anyone else. Part of me doesn't blame them - when you see the constant double standards and ridiculously weak decisions from UEFA, why should you fear their repercussions?

Lifting transfer bans 6 months after they're issued (Barca) and losing 4 squad places for European competitions (PSG & City) that you'll never use anyway? Doesn't cut it. No one's going to respect the FFP policy until they start dishing out real penalties and actually enforce them.

I like the fact that we're making an issue of following the FFP guidelines but even if we did go crazy and splash £60M on Pogba, with the right sales we'd still be only slightly in the red. The deals we've cut so far this summer have been outstanding business and here's hoping it continues.

An annoying picture to bring this thread full circle.

Mission accomplished! Note to self, never ever make a Star Wars reference on the Shed End! Great reply though! I am still trying to hold down the vomit in my mouth! Not sure what is worse seeing that or Wenger holding a trohpy! Lol! Cheers!

The same two guys on twitter still going hard that both Pogba and Griezmann are Chelsea players. Says Griezmann going to be announced on the 27th/28th. Waiting to hear a date on Pogba announcement. This guy really does seem to talk like he know something.

I'm guessing it is all bull.

I just cant see the point in Griezmann, we are overloaded in that position, unless The boy is a signficant step up and I mean Ronaldo, Messi Level above it just doesn't seem like smart spending to me.

Pogba I can kind of understand, this is a player who is going to dominate midfields for years to come, but again, It's the trade of between giving some of our existing kids who are some of the best in the country a chance to develop to that level or just splashing on the finished article. Baker and Boga are to examples of top talents that will suffer from these buys

Well Salah cannot be forced to return to Egypt but instead he could be refused permission to leave the country if he visits his family there.

There will be a meeting between the Minister of Higher Education, the Egyptian FA and the national team’s coaching staff to discuss whether a solution can be found that would see Salah remain in England.

My money is on him staying abroad.

Griezmann won't be a massive step-up like those guys you mentioned, but he'd probably be on Hazard's level.

Define rich

It doesn't matter any more...no one cares, EUFA make useless idle threats and PSG together with Barca and Real all know it.

Disclaimer: it's REALLY f**king bad.

I know you warned me but I had to watch. Jumped through in five minutes. Those five minutes of my life are gone forever.
