Diego Costa to Chelsea

who also has a release clause that we want to activate . . .

Can't see us wanting to activate the 24m release clause for a 29 year old full back.

You act like you know what transfers we're about to make. This reeks of a Mourinho type signing and if its good enough for him then its good enough for me.

Why hasn't it gone thru yet?! Cesc signed from what looked to be a hotel room somewhere on brazil...why not costa?

how about that the financial year for Chelsea starts tomorrow as well...he will be in next years figures as oppose to last years

Probably know the same as you about chelsea transfers which if truth be told is f**k all. I agree that he looks like a Mourinho type signing but what my post was trying to state was that I don't believe Chelsea would want to pay the release clause amount. In other words I think they will try to get him cheaper. This, I will add is only my opinion. Time will tell.

I know Zi don't know f**k all either but your original post read like you knew we wouldn't pay the release clause.

isnt it pretty obvious we dont want to pay the release clause? If shaw was absolutely out of the question at his price then common sense dictates that we would be equally unlikely to entertain such a huge asking price for someone who in the "mature" stage of the career curve.

some decisions the board have made over the years are questionable, but theyre clever folk and its simple business. Its a huge amount to pay for someone who realistically only has 3 years at the top. For years now we have adopted a one-year-extension-only policy for players over 30, so why scrap that now and start signing up a 29 year old on a long term contract with an initial payout of €24m?

How do you know that?

End of Q2?

Possibly is but no one knows for sure and that was my point. Look at the Costa deal we're supposed to have met his release clause yet nothing's been done there either.

I suppose anything is possible but i think this is the 18th time that ive heard that they are signing today and each time the day goes by and we still havent signed them.

Haha indeed. 19th time lucky then!
Atletico Madrid are finally ready to rubber-stamp Diego Costa's move to Chelsea as they ramp up their interest in Alvaro Negredo.

Costa is Jose Mourinho's No 1 transfer target this summer and the Blues have already met the striker's £32million buy-out clause.

But Chelsea fear Atletico are stalling on ratifying the move in hope of an improved offer from another club.

However, the Spanish club are now set to confirm Costa's switch to Stamford Bridge so they can focus on signing Manchester City's Negredo.

The Spaniard impressed during the opening months of last season but a loss of form saw him loss his place in Manuel Pellegrini's starting XI.

Atletico boss Diego Simeone wants Negredo to replace Costa, but knows the money recouped from the latter's move to England will be vital in securing the City forward.

Mourinho is also trying to sign Atletico left-back Filipe Luis, who could cost close to £20million.

Simeone is keen to strike a loan deal for Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku, but the Belgian is also wanted by Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Looking at the pics of Jose' enjoying his vacation I would say he is pretty calm and relaxed and everything at the Bridge in respect to transfers is under control and our targets, who ever they are, including Costa, are all done deals and just waiting for the WC to be completed before the clear out and new signings commence.  No worries, no panic.. normal service will be resumed as soon as possible..

Benzema? ! I can come up with a few more if your like...

No, to French, ok, you set em up we will knock them down.
