After watching Spain in the WC and Costa I am alittle concerned.  I was not impressed with Costa and don't think he is the all mighty answer.  Is anyone else concerned or was the WC a fluke for Costa.  I would love to see Falcao instead. 

 

Pretty much I would say. Spain were crap all round and it is an established fact that Costa is not a playmaking forward like Suarez or Aguero. He is just a finisher and a damn good one at that and we have Hazard, Oscar and Fabregas for creating stuff for him.

 

His case is not like Lukaku who has been genuinely poor in a an otherwise decent Belgium team.

Don't want him here at all. Glad that his deal hasn't gone thru yet. Think we are waiting for the completion of the WC to sign a new striker. My guess is if we fail to sign somebody else we will put in an offer in for costa late August.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Costa seems to be the number one target for Mourinho.

We shouldn't let a couple of bad team Spain games to cloud the fact he is one of the hottest strikers in Europe. He led Atletico to CL final and won the La Liga.

I'm not a huge fan of his antics but if he scores it doesn't matter. Those antics wont kill anyone or even slightly hurt any real men anyway. Too much is made of things like that. Most teams would still take Suarez even though he bit again. Me too. Chiellini is fine if you haven't heard the news. He is an imbecil but will carry your team.

I think Jose wants a big striker who can score and Costa is just like that. I honestly can't think of any other striker that we could get who is as in form as he is.

Costa has been injured since the Champions League Semi, he was spotted at Cobham earlier today and is house hunting in Surrey in the morning. Once our medics get going on July 1st when he is presented to the media at 3pm we will see the start of a rehabilition process that will see him grow fitness wise pre-season into our new methods of play and ultimately to score the 25 league goals and 32 in all competitions to shut up the non believers you heard it here First Ladies and gentlemen.

I can't stand Costa's game. Watching him play for Atleti was like watching an Tony nominated live stage drama. His game is made around sniffing for contact in the box and I hate that sort of player. If we got him, I'd still cheer, but I'd secretly dislike his antics.

Costa 27 Liga goals, Benzema 17 last season. No competition and you could draw the "look at the service he's getting at Real"-card here as well. And Benzema is not tough enough for my liking anyway. You need to be a bit tough against most parked buses.

Very good point, Van Persie was hopeless at the last Euros yet still managed to finish EPL top scorer the following season. Also on the flip dude if that Torres scored plenty for Spain on the Euros yet was still poor for us in the EPL the following season.

If u take out pens and also count assists, which with our goal scoring midfielders, I think it's a massive asset. Benzema has 26 goals and 14 assists in 52 games. Costa has 33 goals and 7 assists in 53 games.

Not a massive difference, Benzema has much more rounded game IMO.

I think Costa is the right man for the job. Ok people dont like his attitude but for me he is a warrior! He does what ever it takes to win. We lack that in our team. We have lots of fancy feet but hardly any fighters.

I think he will do well for us. Lets face it, it would be a very tough task for him to be any worse than what we already have.

That's the one thing that warms me slightly to Costa, is the fact we are lacking tough characters, and he does look like he would die for the team.
