Diego Costa to Chelsea

Featured Replies

If the ban is appealed to try & get him for the city game, there's a chance it could be extended further if it fails... ffs

Fairly certain he'll play on Sat.

People are turning into conspiracists! The FA are renowned for being complete sh*te when it comes it charging players and often make it up as they go along. However, Costa deserves a good chunk of criticism for the stamp he's being charged for as it was a definite red. Hope this makes him tone it down in future.

I am a conspiracy theorist and proud, but I only base them on trends and evidence, the fact is Aguero wasn't banned, others took ages to go through but this one is taking a maximum 2 day turnaround to ensure he doesn't play on Saturday. And the only evidence that could convict him is his reputation, which shouldn't be used to judge a single case.

No chance he will play Saturday. His appeal will be heard and in all likelihood denied by Friday. They went through the whole procedure on sky today.

it will be interesting if we see something similar at the weekend. The way the media can control football now is ridiculous.

A drogba winner on Saturday will be very very sweet.

I think Jose already expected him to be banned, but the way they fast tracked this means that they can get a conclusion as early as Friday even with the appeal, without the appeal he'll be charged tomorrow.

If they appeal at 6pm tomorrow , or decide to do so , how can they charge him without hearing the appeal? Where is youlots when you need him ?

Not a big surprise. Remember how Suarez's reputation grew and his bans were very lengthy. Costa is building his rep very fast. Not surprising at all. Our lads should tell him to stop this nonsense. He doesn't need to stamp or push anyone.

Except he didn't. Suarez did everything on purpose.

Yep, instead lets have someoe who gets bullied out of games and doesn't care, oh wait a minute, let's just recall Torres

I'm gonna have to take a break from the internet for a while. Was in the middle of lunch and had to throw the whole f**king thing away. From the delight of rival fans everywhere I look to the ridiculous magnanimity from some on here who keep saying it was f**king deliberate I need to take a break.

Quick points:

I'm sorry but in both cases I have yet to be convinced that he intentionally stomped on either player.

The fact that this is being fast tracked is utter bullsh*t. I cannot think of a time that has ever happened. Maybe someone will be gracious enough to enlighten us.

Well let's hope that appealing at the last minute can somehow push it back one game, but there is one full Friday for them to work with so I won't be surprised if they got it done on the same day.

Google 'escapes retrospective ban' and there are 2 footed tackles, elbows, slaps, and stamps, all worse than costa's 'tread' that the fa deemed okay.

Ha. I forgot about the Toure kick last year. Tell me how Costas is worse than that

if costa appeals (obviously he will lose) will it enable him to play vs city? if so, it's probably worth appealing eve if it adds an extra game to the ban

In other news, its nice to see the FA have drastically sped up their disciplinary procedure. Presumably all other incidents will also be dealt with within 24 hours from now on?

Exactly, we all expected the ban, but lets see how future investigations are now handled.  The FA are setting their own precedent here

Football and football authorities/institutions at all levels have disappeared so far up their own a***holes they can no longer tell night from day.

I simply cannot believe I'm seeing some of the things written about this out there. For something as innocuous as that.

Paul Parker calling him a disgrace and how we should be ashamed and no one likes us. f**king little muppet

The FA don't want Chelsea to have another 8 point lead, they may as well ban us from playing with a goalkeeper, it would be less obvious. The amount of sh*t other players have got away with on par with or worst than Costa last night is ridiculous. Sometimes it really is hard to believe anything other than the FA are doing their best to screw us over and have some sort of campaign out to get is. I can't see another reason why so many other high profile players have got away with worse.

Luckily we have Dids in the wings but that's hardly the point, as the man himself would say - it's a fuxking disgrace.

Didn't yaya get away with some dodgy sh*t last season and a Stoke player or some one from a lesser club koped a ban for same thing?

Yes , booted wolfswinkel while he was on the floor ( yes a kick, not a tread or a "stamp") on FA review, no action taken

Paul Parker is just bitter, he was sh*t for us. He has no idea what he's talking about either, he's an uneducated idiot. As far as no one liking us, I'm glad, it's us against the world.

Jose must show all the shot others have gotten a way with and show the FA up for being the cowardly bar stewards that they are.

Would be very interested to know how the FA can prove intent, when he's not looking at he guy.

I don't doubt for a second that he knew what he was doing, proving it is another issue all together.

It was only a couple of weeks ago that Raheem Sterling escaped a retrospective ban for hitting Swansea's Federico Fernandez...

Except he didn't. Suarez did everything on purpose.

Oh please. I'm a fan of Costa and like the passion he's playing with, but he's a dirty player, no question about it and you have to be extremely naive/biased to think he's not doing it intentionally. He's trying to wind up the opposition and at times he goes too far and crosses the line.

Oliver was poor last night and missed some obvious calls in favor of Pool but, to be fair Diego was lucky to remain on the pitch, all things considered.

The only thing that really bothers me in this case is the FA handling of the matter. The timing of the charge is unfortunate for us and because they let so many players get away with worse offences in the past some CFC fans take it personally. I don't think there's a campaign against CFC, but I believe the FA are incompetent and allow themselves to be influenced by the media.

3 game ban incoming.

f**k it. We don't need him for Saturday. Get Drogba in.

Seems like we can't enjoy our wins without some kind of media sh*t storm.

How many stomps did Suarez get away with? It's a f**king joke.
