One last comment on match of the day...it took ruud to give us any real praise...the commentator sounded bored, didn't give the second goal the kudos it merited and bizarrely was having digs about Costa's performance until he scored

You're right about Ruud,he was almost tripping over himself to praise anything we did!

It was a red card all day long, he had a massive kick out at him, ball not even in the same solar system. Consipracy is he wanted to get over to Germany quicker to support one of his oldest friends (paul smith) in his world title fight

I watched that fight I didn't notice him at it was he shown at it?

Yep, someone needs to explain the law to them...mind you Utd fans and players also need to understand that a massive kick to the knee is a red card...west ham player doing a simple trip is a yellow...big difference

Definitely

I don't think he sounded bored at all, but you were right about the Costa dig. What I saw Costa was getting in positions and getting chances.

I watched the fight, those judges score cards were disgraceful.

I actually felt sorry for him. Boxing needs to change its ways. As smith said not one of them judges boxed before. It was a joke

I'm watching MOTD from last night and i still think Rooney's red card was harsh, it was a high trip nothing more. It was a yellow card challenge not a red, i see bookings for that all of the time. I don't like Rooney but he is getting unfairly criticised for it.

I just think it was a really poor attempt at a tactical foul.

Did someone say Rooney's red was harsh? How on earth can that have been harsh? It wasn't a petulant trip or a 'take one for the team' foul. It was a blatant hack at Downing, red card all day long. Means he misses game against us however I'm not convinced that's necessarily a bonus for us.

That's Alan green from bbc radio five live...used to be very good on the radio, been just a Miserable sod in recent years and is a Liverpool fan, which says it all...suddenly come in from nowhere to do motd and clearly isn't used to new format...commentary style on TV and radio are different things...

One thing I have noticed about motd commentators, they all sound as if they're doing it from a studio, already knowing the score...just doesn't sound natural to me...like they have a script and a chance to make their knowing and unfunny wisecracks

usually commentate from the hospitality boxes don't they?

they probably get the works as well!

I've also noticed the total lack of sh1ts given by bbc commentary this season.

seriously can anyone believe its still a utd fest, its amazing how much coverage and attention is coming utds way when they are pretty much diabolical and have then crapped it and spent loadss man city style in 1.5 windows and now have a completely different team!!?

grinds my gears because any other club and no one would care after being rubbish for 18 months + and the only attention would be negative about the amount of spending compared to results...!?!?!

why do we need the whole talking live to van gaal every week as well? wtf!?

I agree. Part of the problem is that the media as a whole are no longer reporting facts. 24 hour news = more speculation and more of reporters and commentators trying to make a storyline out of some football events. In that sense, the story of Man Utd was that of fallen giants (last season) and the media seem to want it now to be of an exiled King reclaiming his throne. It's crap, of course. It's also condescending to viewers, etc to tell us that Man Utd are getting better, etc when they are clearly a mess.

surprised you see it that way scott...he could have just stuck his foot out and tripped him, that's a classic cynical but effective yellow...instead he kicked at him wildly...if that was against any of our players, we'd all be going mental

The score cards where a shoker but I still gave it to Abrahams by about 2 rounds. He took a lot of the punches on his gloves and seemed to land with the more meaningful shots... the world can't on one hand declare Mayweather a genius because of his defense and on the other hand criticise other defensive fighters because essentially they arn't mayweather. The fight was close but the onus is on the challenger to rip the title away from the champ, always has been in boxing and Smith fell just short in a great effort for me.

Personally I think either groves or degale win that fight handidly.

Oh and as for the moaning by Eddie Hear, he wasn't up in arm's when Beltrand was robbed agains Burns in Scotland.

If it was just a trip it's yellow, but it was a booting and a definite red. Can't believe there's even a question.

Get a grip for god sake.

I thought Lloris and Kaboul were both class yesterday.

Loving how much better Costa and Remy are than Balotelli and Welbeck though  :laugh2:

your continued hostility toward all my posts is a delight...ever since I questioned your view of the England v Italy game in June...

It was before that. Your excessive paranoia regarding the media's perception towards us is borderline Scouse-like.

I'm not being hostile towards you, I'm sure you're a great bloke in real life. Just drop the victim mentality dude. Sky / BBC have been very good to us. You seem to ignore all the fantastic coverage we get.

if i'm guilty of overreacting to the media etc aren't you also guilty of overeacting to my posts? just don't understand the aggressive tone all of the time...I try to ignore it, but it's getting rather tiresome...we're supposed to be on the same bloody side...not saying we always have to agree, but we should all feel free to express an opinion, without being abused for it...

How is telling someone to get a grip, over-reacting?

Read your drivel before you post it. If you give it a few seconds of serious consideration, you'll realise what a wally you're being. If you don't...well, sh*t, you must be a paranoid wreck  :laugh2:
