I dont recall us ever being so harsh with Torres, especially so soon. Towards the end Mourinho was obviously frustrated with him, but the club always tried to support him and keep face.

Yeah, fans on a forum slagging if a player 3 years in is exactly the same as his manager throwing balotelli under a bus. What a strange thing to say.

The Rodgers/Balotelli thing is odd because Rodgers signed the player 6 weeks ago. Just 6 weeks ago he thought Balotelli was a good signing. If that's NOT true, why did Rodgers sign him and spend 16 million on him, just 6 weeks ago? Rodgers' comments are probably better delivered privately to the player.

He's always struck me as being very passive about the whole media spiel in England. He could live in relative tranquility in Madrid.

I wouldn't rule it out. Currently City are the only team that could get him/ would want him in England.

on Rodgers/Balotelli - seems to me Brendan is increasingly rattled by Liverpool's run of results and looking for someone to blame. I still believe Balotelli is a loose cannon and when Sturridge comes back and Mario finds himself on the bench there will be trouble in the Liverpool camp.  It's only a matter of time before Stevie G gets pissed off with him and Mario realises that the move to Anfield marks the end of his career not a new beginning
