Fair enough but a few things - the shortlist for the Ballon D'or hasn't been narrowed down yet, and although we all know the final 3 will be Messi, Ronaldo and someone else, Real Madrid have a few other players on the shortlist yet only defended Ronaldo in that statement.

Also, last year they extended the voting after Ronaldo's hattrick against Sweden so they can't really claim an agenda against them.

And lastly, they contradict themselves in the statement - they claim it's about individual performances yet then go on to mention them winning the Cup, CL, Super Cup etc.

The game wasn't called off on this ocassion, but recent events have shown that a game can be abandoned and the result turned on it's head. It's not funny, it's not clever and quite frankly Spuds need to seriously look at their stewarding and security.
