I don't think the squad Newcastle put out is too terrible. Good mix of starters/veterans and younger players. Not everyone is as lucky as City to have the luxury of playing a second team and name world class stars up and down the pitch!

If City lose out here, only the Scouse stand in our way.

Given we found it hard to beat Shrewsbury, nothing is assured...we lost to Sunderland last year ffs

 

Football is Football.

 

There's no doubt that only Liverpool remaining of the 'big clubs' gives us a significant advantage. 

Southampton aren't going away. Their form continues.

I'm going to be concerned if we draw Southampton in the next round for the same reason. This is looking like less and less of a flash-in-the-pan with each passing week.

 

I have a lot of admiration for Southampton.
