October 28, 201411 yr This is how I feel about these jumpers! Disgraceful! Oddly enough, that looks like the woman with the glasses on.
October 28, 201411 yr I would personally like to see Baines replaced by Bertrand. I am yet to see Baines make any impact at all in the England side. Off the top of my head i can't remember a single game where Baines has impressed. I think Baines is handy for set pieces mainly. Other than that, Bertrand is a better option. Much younger, also.

His throat maybe but not his waist. Edited October 28, 201411 yr by carrickblue
October 28, 201411 yr Oddly enough, that looks like the woman with the glasses on. She's just found out she's been badly done. The Liverpool top is a Reebok issue from many moons ago. Seriously though, what possesses people to do that. How could they even think "this'll look good". If these weren't available these are probably the kind of people that would be wearing those excellent jester hats (kids excluded from that moan).
October 28, 201411 yr So just after their silly banner Crystal Palace are set for a 90% take over from a billionaire American businessman. I'm sure whatever money he may choose to invest in the club will be met with contempt and disgust from those same fans who held aloft that banner just a couple of weeks ago.

Just how they were disgusted when Steve Parish's consortium took on their £30m debts.
October 28, 201411 yr We definitely should make a banner or two when we play them at Selhurst Park this year, They held a banner up against us last year down at their ground saying 'You got the money, We got the soul' , I'd like to see something along the lines of 'Well done for catching the dirty money plague' or ' We got the money, You also got the money', or even a simple 'Cry$tal Palace', Palace and Arsenal fans are 2nd and 3rd on my hate fans with a passion league, With United doing a Bayern in that League, Of course.
October 28, 201411 yr Can't believe Spurs fans are turning on Pochetino, his strikeforce is a farce for one and ge inherited some average players. What happened to giving the manager time?

October 28, 201411 yr Can't believe Spurs fans are turning on Pochetino, his strikeforce is a farce for one and ge inherited some average players. What happened to giving the manager time? I think part of the problem is that we are into a run of managers who appear to be pursuing their own ideas re. style of play/who plays (as is their right, of course) despite initial indications that the ideas are not working. I am more worried about Spurs now than for about four years. A top four place is 'do-able' this year but we're all over the shop - we are not fielding a settled team, we are still (that 'still' should be in bold) pushing up with a high line and good young players are scoring hat-tricks in Europe and then not being played in the league. The high line didn't work all last season - why are we trying to make it work now? I normally agree about giving managers time but bear in mind that Pochettino had pre-season to look at the squad and to see who he fancied for a more-or-less settled starting eleven. My main concern is hard to articulate but it comes down to a sense that we are going slowly backwards.

I really rate him from what I've seen, I think he looks good. He has 12 goals in 36 apps for Spurs and 28 in 99 career apps, as well as 15 in 29 International Youth games, all of which are a good ratio for a young forward. Fair play to Tim Sherwood for giving him the chance - many other managers wouldn't. It's probably because he knew his time was up at Spurs anyway whereas other managers trying to cling to their job would field their best XI, irrespective of age. I always look back and think you were crazy to get rid of Redknapp tbh, he knew that team, he knew how to get the best out of them. I just look at you now with Pochetino and I think you should give him the time he needs. I get what you're saying about preseason but I don't believe you can truly gage much from pre season. Man U for example were fantastic on pre season yet they've struggled to get out of the starting blocks this season. I think your manager believed players like Soldado would come good but he just hasn't. I honestly think if you give him time you'll be back in the top 4 within the next 3 years.
October 28, 201411 yr Shouldn't have got rid of Redknapp, and then shouldn't have got rid of AVB, in my opinion. He was sacked while Spurs were comfortably above United, with an obviously weaker squad. Despite the media saying Moyes should be given time, hardly anything was made of AVB's sacking.

Kane is an exciting prospect. I heard Friedel interviewed on the weekend and he said (based on playing against Kane during training, etc) that Kane was the best finisher at Spurs and could finish from distance, close-in, with side of his foot, chipping, etc. He should be playing now irrespective of his age/experience; if he's good enough he's ready and we need a striker who'll actually score.

In fairness you are probably correct about giving Pochettino time. I'm concerned at present and we could do with a win to calm nerves. Redknapp knew the team, etc. You are correct. However, he was so distracted by the idea of managing England (when it became an issue) that he seemed not to be bothered about Spurs and he undid himself. I bet he regrets tarting himself about for the national job and we do too, I reckon, as things haven't gone well since.
October 28, 201411 yr Spud - just to say I like your tribute to Gunner Roberts, a relative I'm sure. Nice touch.
October 28, 201411 yr Spud - just to say I like your tribute to Gunner Roberts, a relative I'm sure. Nice touch. Cheers mate. He was stationed in India and then sent to Gallipoli and then to France where he died of wounds in April 1917. My Dad has his diary and it's amusingly brief - like he couldn't be arsed. I've got a photocopy and typical entries are: 'April 2nd - Arrive Alexandria' 'April 3rd & 4th - Disembarking' 'April 5th -billeted at Stadium' 'April 6th (wait for it...) - left the stadium' And: 'June 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th up to the 17th - has been very quiet' It's different to what I'd expected an even the references to combat are dry: 'May 28th - Cpl Holmes and Gr. Holden killed. Our first serious losses.' Sorry for the off topic post and for the length thereof.
