I think they are only counting top-flight games rather than including their positions throughout their time in the Football League.

Exactly, this statto table counts only games from the top league.

Brendan Rodgers back tracking on the "If you spend £100m you should be challenging for the title" claim.

"There was a lot of money spent last summer and a lot of players coming in. If you take the emotion out of last weekend, this was a team that probably overachieved last year,"

Also basically admits last season was a fluke.

But it's not his fault because:

"Three months ago I was a tactical genius, performing to a good level."

(Okay that last one is out of context but still funny).

Could his head get any bigger?

He can't hide the fact he's the first manager of the Scousers not to win a trophy in his first 3 seasons in years.

He has spent well over £150 million sincce coming in and has bugger all to show for it bar a title challenge that ended up an anti-climax.

He's failed.

Such a twat.

Basically last season he had the best player in the league who bailed them out most weeks. This season he's actually got to rely on his tactical acumen and shrewdness in the transfer market and that's why they're playing poorly.

Chancer.

Interesting that there's been no real attention to Brenda's absurd pronouncements when even George Bush was not immune. What does a UK Northern football manager have that a leader of a world super power doesn't I wonder.

"Do I expect to be manager next season? Very much so, yes. I don't think there's anyone better," Rodgers said.

"That's the reality of how I see it.

In the world of Brendan there is no coach better than he... The envelopes don't lie.

Damning himself with feint praise really, basically saying that have to keep him because there's no one better. Or rather, no one better who would be willing to go there and replace him.

Hoping for a Bayern Madrid final.

I wouldn't mind seeing Juventus reach the final.

Always had a soft spot for them as a side since my days of watching Football Italia on channel 4 and loving watching Del Piero

Inter were my side from back then.

Outstanding team with the real Ronaldo

Milan are my Italian team... It was Shevchenko and Maldini that did it for me and also that Chelsea bought in Ruud and George Weah before as well.

But I've a soft spot for Juve too because of Del Piero.

If they beat Madrid then I'm backing them in the final definitely. Just can't see them beating Madrid. And I would hate for a Madrid Barca final. The spanish are insufferable enough as it is.

A little torn about where I stand on Juventus - on the one hand they have or had a few players I absolutely adore, on the other hand their horrendous corruption at the beginning of the century left a very sour taste in my mouth.

I definitely want them to beat Real, but that isn't really saying a great deal as there can't be many clubs in football who are as inherently detestable as them.
