Where indeed? We're just about the only thing propping up the English co-efficient at the moment. In the last three years, we've won the CL, the EL and reached another CL semi-final. No other English side has made it to a European semi-final since 2011, which is pretty damning.

Do you guys plan on signing a striker? Rooney has been in decent form but I can't see van Persie being useful next season -- Hernandez will probably be sold to a la liga side as well.

If we do then it wouldn't be a striker for the Starting XI, there's only one position to fight for as a striker in our 4-3-3 formation; and Rooney as captain automatically claims that role.

 

Van Persie would therefore be his backup, and this is depending on whether Robin would be content to be second choice which will be interesting to see. Perhaps he may feel he's capable of starting for another team but only then could I see us signing a striker and it definitely would not be a high-profile striker but rather someone who'd be happy to be a backup/rotation option for us, the same way Remy is for you. It's unlikely that it's going to be Hernandez because as you stated he appears to be unhappy being a second choice for us.

 

Our third option is James Wilson who's a pretty promising striker for us, he's still very young and I'm sure he'll be focusing on the Under 21's more but he's always available and will definitely be lurking around the scene for minutes.

 

It's likely we'll go in next season with Rooney, Van Persie, Wilson being our options for strikers next season but who knows.

He was nothing special against us in both legs. Although admittedly they are the only games I've seen him play.

Didn't have a great start to the season, wanted to leave by the looks of it so didn't seem interested in performing when he didn't get that. Playing very well now like he was last season and would still be a very good signing for a top club.
