Following Our Nearest and Dearest Rivals, 2014-15

I can see it too, the man has shown that when the going gets tough he can't handle the pressure. Another reason I don't think he could manage for long over here.

This is what I've been getting at for a while, I don't think he has what it takes to cut it for the Premier League. He has managed better sides than any side in the league but that's not the point, getting a side to play the way Bayern and Barca do in England is a much harder job.

Our domestic competition is the hardest and has been since the Serie A went in decline a long time ago. I don't think it is the the most talented league in the world by any means but I think it is the hardest and definitely the most competitive even if we did walk it this season.

Sturridge now being tipped to be out for another five-six months...know he plays for a horrible club, but I feel sorry for him...quality player who looks like his career will be fcuked by fitness problems...does make selling him, despite my reservations at the time, perhaps a wise decision after all

2009 or 11?

2009 final was unwatchable for me. I didn't want United to win it twice in a row and Barcelona didn't deserve it.

2009 after they beat us. The Barcelona win was definitely the lesser of 2 evils, to me

::clap2:: spot on, Pep's defenders don't ever consider this though.

Speaking of Serie A I wouldn't be shocked if Guardiola ended up at Juventus or even Ligue 1 with PSG in the future after been heavily linked with an English club. He only seems to go places where everything's set up for him.

Jose in 2005-06. Probably more but can't be bothered checking.

I find it so strange that someone can be manager of the year but never deemed worthy of a manager of the month award.

Ultimately the awards mean nothing but there's often no rhyme or reason to how they are handed out.

Manager of the month is a bit different from other individual awards in that it isn't always the manager of the best team that wins it, but the team that most exceeded expectations. As such, being title favorites from the off makes it a bit difficult to win it.

But you would expect a manager of team that's 13 points clear at the top to be deemed to be doing a job well enough to have won at least 1.

Rafael Benítez, Bobby Robson and Joe Kinnear all have more MotM awards than Jose and despite having 3 full seasons less in the Premier League than Jose, Pellegrino has won as many MotM awards.

It's a bit bizarre when you look at it.

That's correct, when he won it he wasn't happy. He said he was surprised considering he hadn't won a single manager of the month award

Nigel Pearson named manager of the month for April.

Has a side ever won the Premier League without the manager winning a Manager of the Month award?

Tbh I think he deserves it for April

I think it's a discredit to him, it's like they say he's managing Chelsea they have multi million pounds worth of talent so they're expected to do good. It's just bollocks, if anything Jose has proven that managing a side with this much talent is not easy. Look at all those that came in between his ranges, they all struggled at times, even after short periods of success.

Breaking News SSN: England have been awarded extra place in qualifying round of next season's Europa League through UEFA fair play ranking.

Wonder who will get it? How does it work if the team with the best fair play stats already are in Europe?

I think I saw someone on twitter yesterday saying Everton are in line for Europa league qualification as a result of fair play

so this article talks about manager of month...only twice has a manager who won the league failed to get single manager of the month award and it's been jose both times...clearly a popularity issue.

there is even an article from some bint at the bottom of the page saying that she has never voted for jose cos chelsea are expected to do well...sure...but that hasn;t prevented people voting for fergie, wenger, pellegrino etc over the years has it?

So she says:

"Personally, I tend to vote to reward exceptional performance in that given month. A manager who has stopped a dismal run of form and changed his club's fortunes around".

So basically to be manager of the month you have to have been sh*t and then stop managing to be sh*t just long enough to get your team (maybe temporarily) out of the sh*t.

What a load of sh*t.

Absolutely brilliant ::clap2::

It's so true aswell, just shows what a farce it all is.

There is an obvious negative bias towards Jose as a manager, I mean there is no other explanation as to why he's not winning these awards despite being top of the table all season long.

I guess folk just find it really hard to say well done to Jose and Chelsea for whatever reason...

He is loved by the media though also, they always label him a genius, as much as they paint a bad picture of him they do paint a pretty picture also.

Couldn't give a toss about manager of the month award I'm kind of glad, how many times do managers win that then lose the next game? They call it the curse.

They love to hate him.

They miss him when he's away and then complain about him when he is back.

English football was boring without him and they craved him coming back....to print more rubbish.

I imagine Jose feels the same tbh
