League Cup and FA Cup was their only realistic chances of silverware this season and Van Gaal has bollocksed up one of those only two weeks into the season.

What reason was there for not playing close to a first choice XI its not like they needed to rest players for the long season is it.

 

Unbelievable that he thinks he can take this competition this lightly. To play that many under 21's is an insult, especially when United ain't even a top 6 team in the Premier league anymore. He didn't need to field such a weak side when they have no European football this season. I am sure plenty of his first team players need this type of game so early in the season to boost their fitness, Van persie being one of them.

i agree, they have enough quality players to beat MK Dons or for that matter Swansea or Sunderland but there seems to be something wrong in the mentality at United. They may be in for a lengthy period in the doldrums if they don't get a grip on things very quickly. I haven't seen anything of Spurs yet this season not even MOTD - how do they look Spud?
