February 2, 201610 yr He had a whole season at United which was enough to judge him on, he continued the same kind of performance when he played for us. He was also in Jose's plans and still fell behind Remy. Not to mention again that we tried shipping him back to Monaco already. A whole season in a disillusioned United side, you can't say one bad season makes him a crap player. I guarantee if he had of been fit more this season he would have seen a lot of game time when we need to rest Costa. That can still happen if he sorts the injuries out. As for the Monaco thing, is there any proof of that or just paper talk. Guus did an interview recently where he seemed to want to get him fit so he can use him. The guy was the deadliest striker in the world up until his knee injury, which more than anything would affect speed over technique etc, and he was never super pacey anyway. He is a flop in terms of playing minutes on the pitch, but I do'nt believe he is as washed up as some like to make out, he just needs a break (not a leg break though!!).

February 2, 201610 yr Missing again tomorrow night with a calf injury. Must be from him lifting all those heavy pay slips.
February 2, 201610 yr We must have the worst front line in the league injury wise. If it's not Remy's calf it's Costa's hammy/thigh and if it's neither of those then it's Falcao's melting legs.
February 2, 201610 yr It is really sad how our frontline looks. Costa is firing but we know his hamstrings are waiting to get sore again. If Costa gets injured we'll have to rely on Pato.
February 10, 201610 yr Could be on his way to China. As could several other players too mind you. Rumour have it drogbas former Chinese team have offered him 7 mill a year, double his wage with us, but he wants 9 mill.
February 10, 201610 yr An unnamed Chinese club has offered €20million for #Chelsea striker Loic Remy and a deal has been agreed in principle. [Le10 Sport]
February 10, 201610 yr An unnamed Chinese club has offered €20million for #Chelsea striker Loic Remy and a deal has been agreed in principle. [Le10 Sport] If true, that's a good fee for Remy but he's still our second-choice striker isn't he? The club seem to be focussing on planning for next season whilst weakening us in the short-term. That's fine if we manage to stay up but that's by no means guaranteed at the moment.
February 10, 201610 yr €20m is what £12m right? It does give us profit. Hopefully he'll pass the medical.

Traore is now our second choice striker by the looks of it, Remy is never fit anyway.
February 10, 201610 yr Traore is now our second choice striker by the looks of it, Remy is never fit anyway. And Pato. I forgot about him.
February 11, 201610 yr Good deal if true. Only person injured more than him is falcao. If we could offload them both to China we would be fine with Diego, traore and Pato. Let's face it, most of this season has only been Diego and traore anyway.
February 11, 201610 yr I expect come the end of the season, Pato, Falcao and Costa will be leaving. The lack of CL football next season means none of them are going to want to stick around, and with the first 2 only here on loan it means the club will be severely lacking in the striking department. I think the club should try and sign Harry Kane. The team desperately needs an injection of pace and urgency, and the fact he's English will also be great.
February 11, 201610 yr To add to the above, I also think we should pounce for Negredo from Valencia in the Summer too.
February 11, 201610 yr If Costa and co won't want to stay here with no CL football, why would Kane and Negredo want to come? Both their current teams look likely to be in CL next season.
February 11, 201610 yr Because Kane can be tempted by money, even if it will be a struggle to convince Levy to part with him.Valencia look incredibly unlikely to get into the CL under Neville's tenure.
February 11, 201610 yr Because Kane can be tempted by money, even if it will be a struggle to convince Levy to part with him. Because that worked out so well with Modric.
February 11, 201610 yr Just because it happened once it doesn't mean it will necessarily happen again. I've already stated that it would be hard to get Levy to approve the transfer, but Kane is young and even if Tottenham get CL football next season and we don't, Chelsea are still a bigger club.Plenty of players have gone to lesser performing clubs for £.

Plenty of players have gone to lesser performing clubs for £. I just don't understand your logic - Kane will be tempted by money and no CL but Costa will be off like a shot? Why would Kane come here if he leaves Spurs why not go to a club which will offer both? Why would Kane and Costa have different motives - do you know them both to know what they will do?

February 11, 201610 yr Because that worked out so well with Modric. We never offered a contract to Modric. It's spuds that can be tempted with money, and Real gave them a better deal.

February 11, 201610 yr Spuds sold Modric to Real for less money than we offered them. A better deal doesn't necessarily mean more money. Not selling to a local rival who is competing with you in the league and domestic cups is also a bonus.
