Welcome Loic Remy

Featured Replies

Thought about it but with the rumor about a loan to Norwich I decided against it. Hopefully he stays and fight.

Actually I heard we were even considering selling him to Norwich with a buy back option. However the window closes Monday so he may yet stay.

Holy sh*t

11.5m, a club record. Quite the talented group of forwards Leicester would have

If he joins Leicester I hope he wins the league this season with them. When he was fit and available he rarely let us down.

Twitter alive with rumour 11.5m to Leicester.

Surely we're not going into the second half of the season with Costa, Pato and Falcao?

Pato is no center forward by any imagination, Falcao even when fit will probably have zero form, and Costa is always at risk of injury and bans.

But heck, lets cash in on Remy.

Costa is always at risk of injury.

Whereas Remy doesn't even need to be playing to get an injury.

£12m for a player with an injury track record as bad as his has been for the last two years?

Yes please.

First 25m for Ramires, buying a young American CB and now we get 12m for Remy who hardly plays and often injured? It's like Christmas all over again

Our selling in recent times (notably some of the prices received) has been fairly decent. It has been our buying that has been more questionable. Hopefully Miazga will prove to be an inspired purchase.

A decent price for him if true. Certainly seems risky having just Pato as a backup for Costa. I won't count Falcao as he has been out injured for so long. Pato hasn't played since November so hard to imagine he will be ready for at least a few weeks.

Does this perhaps increase the chances that we will see Traore or perhaps even Bamford up front? Both were linked with loan moves but nothing has been confirmed yet. I would rather we give a younger player a chance than play a false 9.

Is this a joke? Our club simply doesn't work this way. No, we'll play a false #9 every time rather than starting one of our younger players up-front.

Glad Remy's gone. His injury record was almost as bad as Falcao's. Shame, since his goals last season dragged us across the line to the title at the end of last season

Youth is the future, and whilst potentially being without CL football next season, it might well be the way forward. We have been hearing for a while youth is a priority, lets hope that is true and that it will pay dividends for the club.

We managed the first half with literally Costa alone with Remy and Falcao most times at the treatment table. Hopefully Costa stays fit, Pato settles and adds his two pence and maybe Pedro/Traore get a sniff or two at #9. Hope it works out till summer...

No we didn't manage, we struggled terribly and found ourselves near the bottom of the table.

Lol. Well, you've painted the better picture of things back then.

We sold Torres some time ago ;)

£12m that will be wasted on wages for another Falcao type loan ?

We sell Remy now and Bamford will have to step up, or we'll have to make another signing, I still think we desperately need an attacking midfielder, I don't have enough faith in Oscar.

If you are referring to Pato's loan and wages, if he is earning the rumoured £30k a week we'll be paying him £780k for the duration of his loan.

I would guess Remy earns £60-80k a week with us?

Throw on top Ramires leaving (say he was earning £80k a week) and for six months at least in wages alone. My crude maths skills make that to be £3m saved in wages in 6 months.

Including transfer fees that is an extra £40m (25+12+3) in the kitty which pretty much covers the financial loss of not being in the Champions League next season.

What £12m in wages ?

From the two of us you are the native English speaker, so I have a sneaky feeling you are misinterpreting me on purpose... It was you who mentioned wages wages when talking about "£12m that will be wasted on...", I did not even imply it.

Remy is technically a very good player, but he became like a sulky child. He needs to man up.

Our suits should go all out to sell him to Leicester city, as hopefully he will greatly assist their chances of finishing higher in the league than either of the north London scum.

Eh how do you work that out?. Im surprised Remy hasn't complained more to be honest given most of the time he has played especially last season he always scored.
