FIFA 15

Featured Replies

I'd rather there be a youth league option than women, I mean seriously, who is going to play it?

Girls, maybe. In America. The majority of people will play it once out of interest and that will be it.

My first reaction was that it was a little bit silly. The vast majority of people have no interest in playing a slower, less skilful game of FIFA with even worse goalkeepers. But it's a tacked on mode and it'll get good press and sell a few more copies so meh?

Totally pointless mode.

Spending money on this before/instead of graphical upgrades, mode improvements and core gameplay is daft.

That video looks worse than FIFA 15.

Will avoid this at all costs, cash cow and nothing more...tailored for kids.

Aren't there 12 women's teams being included? That's what, 300 players at most?

FIFA 15 has 345 players across 16 teams from the Tippeligan and 398 players across 16 teams from the Ekstraklasa. Those are equally pointless aren't they?

Without Googling, do you know what country those leagues are in and can you name either a club or a player from either of those leagues because I certainly can't. FIFA is stuffed full of features and teams that the majority of gamers will never, ever use.

It's something of a trade-off. This feature will bring in more revenue than doing something elsewhere on the game and I can almost guarantee that none of the work done on modelling these players will have detracted from work being done on the core gameplay because they're separate departments. It's a pointless addition to the game for most people, but so was adding corner flags that moved last year.

It's pointless cause the majority of people won't touch it.

I don't need to google to work that out for goodness sake.

Maybe you are new to FIFA or something or have never played on next gen but the game is bloody shocking and has been for a while now.

It's stale, repetitive, ugly and has been screaming for new ideas and rebuilding for a long time.

It's basically been tailored for kids who like to spend all their pocket money on UT which means other game modes like career mode get left in the dark and older gamers suffer.

Anyway you will probably want to argue with the above like you do with everything else so fire away.....meh

I agree that the core gameplay could probably do with updating and I've played it for the last 3 years or so (before that was Pro Evo going back to 2003 and before that I played FIFA going right back to the original).

But none of that has anything to do with them adding 12 new teams and a new tournament mode to the game. One doesn't impact the other in any real way. Doing this didn't stop them from designing a whole new engine, so whilst I agree it's pointless it really isn't a big issue.

I won't be buying FIFA 16 because 15 pissed me off after a couple of months having taken more than a year break from the title and besides there's so much more coming out that I would rather be playing.

Adding the woman's teams is good, it's nice for a football game to acknowledge the woman's game. Be interesting to see how the player ratings stack up compared to the men!

Sold Courtois. Barcelona made a bid somewhere between 20-30m so I countered with 59m because I wasn't interested in selling. They accepted anyway.

Bought Marco Reus for 44m, sold him for 60m+ the following year.

Sold Costa for 40m.

Bought Aguero for 30m.

Bought Bale for 69m

Leno and Varane for about 20m each.

I can't see how adding women's teams can be seen as a bad thing. It would take minimal resources adding a few teams so it can't be argued that it's at the expense of something else and it's good that the women's game is getting recognition.

I'm not sure of the number of girls who have games consoles let alone would play a football game, sexist perhaps as I'm one of them but I wouldn't even look into that option. If we're going to be equal where's Meriam with Michael, Franklin and Trevor in GTA V? There are women gangters/cons too.

Just focus on the game play, like others I won't be playing 16, I bought 15, played a few games online and sold it within a month. It's a shame because I really enjoyed 13, played it for two years. Is Pro Evo still about? May have to delve back into that.

I don't want to buy the next FIFA because I don't want to condone the way the game engine and scripting encourages people who speed whore, counter attack and spam crosses until eventually they score.

That being said, at least once a week I get the urge to go online and play a few games and its near impossible to get a game on an outdated version within a few weeks of the new one coming out.

Recent surveys suggest around 48% of gamers are now female.

"It is true that 58 percent of mobile gamers in the US are women. But it is also true that just over 50 percent of American PC gamers are women," she wrote. "In fact, women are the largest gaming demographic for PC role-playing games (54 percent) and they represent almost 40 percent of MMO and digital console gamers. So to say that women are just casual gamers is empirically false."

Basically there is a rather large market for female gamers and by introducing the woman's teams on the next FIFA game EA are potentially opening up to an untapped market.

It feels nothing more than a publicity stunt.

EA need to show some more love to the older game modes such as clubs and career mode instead of just putting all their resources into ultimate team.

They will suffer a backlash if the gameplay and other features haven't been improved.

In my years playing FIFA online, I have never...not once came up against a girl playing it.

In any case EA are just a sham, they bring out the same product ever year with the minimal changes and charge a fortune for it.

I won't be buying their crap anymore, not until Rutter is sacked anyway.

I can't fathom what the problem with it is though. Publicity stunt, maybe. Not many people will play it, maybe. But it would take hardly any resources to create it. Not improving gameplay and other career mode are completely different issues and mutually exclusive.

FIFA isn't just a football game - it's a video game. I know people who love FIFA who have literally zero interest in playing or following football, they just like the mechanics of the video game. A female gamer who isn't interested in football could be interested in it if they're playing as women.

PES 2015 gameplay is vastly better anyway. But didn't Konami say they are putting console games on the back burner for a bit?

PES is dire.

The game is broken and the stamina system is a joke.

Messi, Ronaldo, Hazard and the rest always burn out at the 60 minute mark in real life according to Konami.

Because FIFA was our thing. That's my honest feeling about where some of the pushback is coming from and I don't really have a problem with that. My initial reaction to women's football on TV is 'stop trying to make women's football happen' which is totally irrational. After a while I realise it isn't a big deal, but I still get that initial reaction.

I don't think 12(?) women's teams against I don't know how many hundreds of male teams stop it being "our" thing though.

I know. It's irrational.

Women's soccer is actually one of the few things I agree with Blatter on. They should market it on sex appeal because the standard of football is actually terrible. Make the shorts shorter, make the shirts tighter and you'll get more interest.

We actually have a great women's team and Ji So Yung (daughter of Ji So Old) is apparently one of the best players in the world.

Here she is doing Gangnam Style I assume

I wonder how popular a soccer game would be in America where those stats have been obtained. Fair enough, I would have thought there were plenty of other sports that EA could focus on which would pull in more female players but then I'm not a market researcher, so assumptions and all that.

I don't think its a case of either/or (not saying you are either) but I get your point.

You'd know if you'd have played me sweetie, you'd have lost

I don't have a problem with it at all, just questionning who would play it.

Blue Daze - pretty sure I remember you saying a while ago that women's football was pointless and you'd rather Chelsea didn't have or you didn't care in the slightest about our women's team. Just seems odd you're not defending the comment that someone made about this being 'pointless'.

EDIT: Ah, can see you admitted it, fair play.

Because it has a market and it's really not going to affect me if I start playing FIFA again.

Even if they put the women players in something like ultimate team it doesn't matter. I wouldn't use them and it just means there would be teams out there with players rated below 30.

For me, women's football peaked with that sketch in Not The Nine O'Clock News in the early-80s. I don't watch women's football for the same reason I don't watch anything below League One.

There is plenty of time left for them to announce more things, I have nothing wrong with adding the womens game. As an avid fifa player I really want them to focus on the core gameplay and show some love to the game modes which made the game great 3 or 4 years ago. Each yeah every Fifa game has become more frustrating to play and Ultimate team has taken center stage.

Don't get me wrong, Ultimate team has been a monopoly for them. It was a genius idea, I just think its ruining what made Fifa great over the past 10 years or so. You only have to look at their promotional tweets and news, it's all to with that game mode and making money.

People have been craving Online Career mode which would pump life into a dieing game mode. Pro Clubs for me still remains the game mode with the most potential, instead they have just added novelty features instead of improving that game mode as a whole. The game has broken features from the get go and they never fix it.

I think they should redevelop their game engine and focus on creating a new fifa and not a fifa with novelty features. A fifa in which when problems occur they can fix with a patch in which most games do these days. Goalkeeper AI was their big thing for Fifa 15, they are awful and they never got fixed. That's my problem with Fifa but that is also a problem when you have to release a game every year.

Adding Womens football to a game just gives them good publicity and overshadows all the problems they have and do not fix.

So again it looks as if EA are ignoring the obvious flaws and think they can cover it up by adding women into the game.. Poor from EA, FIFA 15 was so poor and for me hasn't been a good FIFA game since the world cup 2010 game.

I know plenty of females who play video games on both console and the computer but I've never seen or heard of a girl playing FIFA or really any of the sports video games.I'm not saying none do, but it would be a tiny section of FIFA players.

I think it's simply going to become, when two friend play, the one who is much better will use a women's team or will do so to troll their less talented mayes/opponents.

It's simply publicity, they know it's not a viable market for a long time so will try and help create it by attaching it to a popular title

BlueDaze, does your survey give a definition of a "gamer"? As is do they qualify anyone whose played a game in the last year or do you have to play like 5 hours or more a week etc?

Ps, looks like maybe someone should start one of those online petitions for EA to dedicate more time on non UT modes for FIFA or else we won't buy them any more. I think about 70% or more of FIFA players would at least sign if they knew of it.
