Very disappointing performance last night in a game which was covered by Sky. Lost 2-0 to Liverpool and we never really got going. Solanke had a night he will want to forget and the defence were all over the place - particularly our No. 15 (Tomori) who looked like he had never played in defence before!

Shouldn't be too harsh as they are still all so young and learning but on that performance, none of these can be expecting to break into the first team squad any time soon. Just hope the Youth Team do better on Thursday in the FA Youth Cup semi-final against Sp*rs!

I'm guessing none of the "big names" where invovled, Boga, RLC, Christainsen, Brown etc

No Boga or RLC but Christensen and Brown played (as did Solanke, Musonda, Colkett, Houghton and Palmer). They just all had a bad day at the office!

Looked strangely hesitant I thought, almost nervous even. I wonder if being on sky sports got to a few of them. We normally look so calm in possession, and so incisive and quick to get forward but looked none of that. Hopefully they can redeem themselves in the home leg .

Another bad day at the office last night, poor overall with only Ake showing anything like good form.

What happened?

What happened?

Lost 1-0 to Leicester, we generally were poor throughout the match having gone behind in the 3rd min. Ake was the best of what was a generally poor performance by all.Solanke and Brown were missed upfront. Loftus Cheek won't have impressed the watching Steve Holland, he faded in the second half and was conspicuous by his absence. The rest of them tbh are a million miles from the first team.

Chelsea produced thirty minutes of stunning football and put Celtic to the sword. The two Charlies (Colkett and Musonda) ran the show and Casey Palmer turned in another sublime performance, crowned by a Willianesque free-kick that flew into the top corner. Palmer, we are told by ChelseaTV, is now training with the first team and you can see why he is being fast tracked. He has two great feet, good shot in either, finds space where none seemingly exists, and his first touch sets him apart from the rest - with the possible exception of Musonda, who only needs to fill out a little bit to gain similar recognition.

In the second half Colkett, like Wisey of old, got fed up with the Celtic players petulant fouling on a regular basis and scythed down one of the main offenders after receiving a yellow card only moments earlier. He duly got his marching orders, much to Assistant Coach Andy Myers annoyance as it spoiled the overall performance a little, but he will learn (maybe Dennis can have a word on how it’s done properly) and when he does he could easily be a future captain in the making.

Theres one of the goals doing the rounds on social media, an absolute beauty. Loads of passing but incisive passing to move forward, great run from musonda, square ball and slotted in. Absolutely ran the Celtic players all over the place, stunning team goal.

The amount of talent in the U21's right now is joyous.  Surely we have to be looking at someone coming through the academy to replace JT as he is set for retiring

And I don't mean replace JT position wise, just as our sole Academy player

I don't think this constant switching of managers will do any good for our youngsters. Chances are Guus doesn't really know any of them so I don't think they will get a look in anytime soon. Same problem will appear next summer when we bring someone else in again.

Edit: just read an article (without source...) that Abramovic told Hiddink he needs to focus on the youth players a bit more. Hopefully there's some truth to it.

Maybe Guus has been watching Baker and Solanke
