July 29, 201510 yr Kaka actually had a great season in 2011-12, with him being one of Madrid's best players. Torres didn't come anywhere close to doing that for us. What was his stats that season?
July 29, 201510 yr Author It wasn't £30 million no need to exaggerate everything about him. Oh okay, £27m, I'm sure that £3m makes all the difference when judging the worst player to pull on a Chelsea shirt last season. Explain to me exactly what I'm exaggerating about him?

Explain to me exactly what I'm exaggerating about him? You seem to have very little patience for any player that doesn't hit the ground running here. Instead of making poor excuses for Di Maria like the United fans we have on here give OUR player some time before calling for his head, give him another season at least. July 29, 201510 yr Author You seem to have very little patience for any player that doesn't hit the ground running here. While making poor excuses for Di Maria like the United fans we have on here give OUR player some time before calling for his head, give him another season at least. How am I making poor excuses for Di Maria? I've said for a player people are labeling a "flop" he directly contributed to 14 goals last season. As for Cuadrado, he does he the ground running, lad can barely stay on his feet. He's been a woeful signing and I'm well within my right to call him as such. He's done nothing to justify his purchase mid season at the expense of Schurrle. I've seen nothing from him to suggest he'll live up to the £30m... Sorry, £27m price tag.
July 29, 201510 yr What was his stats that season? 8 goals and 14 assists in 40 games according to Wikipedia.
July 29, 201510 yr Bringing up that his house was burgled etc. Just a petty excuse, Di Maria was poor last season and if you think he was a player worth 50 million then I think you need your eyes testing. How about John Obi Mikel? The one who I've just recently criticized, his father was kidnapped 2 years ago was it? He was still putting in a decent performance, don't give me that sh*te about Di Maria it just wouldn't compare on any circumstance. And whatever your reasons maybe or point you've just posted, he still warrants your backing, he's a new player still, instead of praying he goes to Juventus in the Cuadrado thread.
July 29, 201510 yr 8 goals and 14 assists in 40 games according to Wikipedia. Not a bad record at all, still though I would rather of had Torres overall, had some very big moments at times, also was especially good under Rafa in the Europa Cup, doubt we would have won it without his contribution.

I'll decide how I support my club and it's players thank you kindly. Regarding Di Maria I said " his form tailed off possibly due to personal life issues such as the attempted burglary of his home". Can you explain how that is making excuses for him? He missed nearly the whole of December through injury and then had the break in attempt at his home in January. This coincides with his loss of form. It's not an excuse it's an observation. At the beginning of the season he looked every bit the player he was at Real Madrid. I said that considering he was regarded a "flop" he still contributed to 14 goals and I wish that Cuadrado, our own flop (and let's make no pretense, he very much flopped last season), had been as bad (read good) as that.
July 29, 201510 yr I read that PSG are only offering 28.5m for him? I'd take him any day for that money, although i'm sure if that is the agreed amount that United would never have sold to us at that price.
July 29, 201510 yr It's an excuse and I wouldn't take your word for it either, not with you exaggerating everything to benefit your viewpoint, it's lazy and also obvious.
July 29, 201510 yr Author It's an excuse and I wouldn't take your word for it either, not with you exaggerating everything to benefit your viewpoint, it's lazy and also obvious. What's excuse saying that is form dipping coincided with injury and an attempted break in at his family home? How exactly is that an exaggeration... Or lazy? You need to untwist your knickers fella.
July 29, 201510 yr I'll let your mom do it, let us all just be lazy on this one. And I would say you used that as an excuse to benefit your viewpoint on seeing Di Maria a 50 million pound player last season.

And I would say you used that as an excuse to benefit your viewpoint on seeing Di Maria a 50 million pound player last season. Mum insults? Bringing out the big guns now ain't we? So I said "at his best looked like a player worth £58m". Not for his whole season but "at his best". Do you disagree that at the beginning of the season he was playing well? If so I'd like to see your counter argument.... Or maybe you can just throw another mum insult out there... Whatever floats your boat really.
July 29, 201510 yr So in one game you base a price tag of a player? that's interesting. And sorry about that one I thought you were as immature as I am, sadly not.
July 29, 201510 yr I think Cuadrado was £23m which could rise to £27m, although obviously it wouldn't rise if he were to leave this summer.
July 29, 201510 yr hey spud so Yedlin is now playing as a midfielder/winger? He does have speed to kill with & this summer w/ the US, Yedlin did create some goals. This situation w/ Yedlin might actually work for your side. There's talk Robdog of Yedlin being loaned out for part/all of the season. Poch has asked him to prove he's ready for the PL. It's a shame if that's the case but, if it produces a more experienced/better Yedlin then it's hopefully an investment.Off topic, we've had a slow closed season. I'm not full of confidence for the coming season. Hopeful? Yes. Confident? Err... Edited July 29, 201510 yr by Spudulike

Speaking of Yedlin you guys are loaded now in the RB spot with Walker, Trippier, and Yedlin (though going by robdog's post he's playing midfield). I was genuinly impressed with Trippier last season (comfortably Burnley's best player IMO) and it's gonna be interesting to see how he gets on at an established PL club. Who do you think will be the first choice?

Even saw you guys linked with our own Ashley Young today. Considering his somewhat return to grace and ...Levy, that will be £50million please. Edited July 30, 201510 yr by Brixtac
July 30, 201510 yr f**k me if Di Maria is available for 30 million I'd bite uniteds hand of. He is one of the best players in the world. We seem to have this tier bracket for players at the moment, with Messi and Ronaldo making up tier one, Neymar, Bale, Hazard Suarez just below them and then a whole range of world class players in that 3rd tier and di maria is easily up there. Just needs some loving, don't see it happening but would love us to hijack that deal
July 30, 201510 yr http://bettingoffers.co/william-hill-50m-prem-predictor/ Heard about this, a 50m betting offer for anyone who can predict next year's table from tip to toe. The odds are of course astronomical, even when taking into account the somewhat guaranteed top six/bottom five finishers (without knowing the order), and of course omitting any scenario that has Liverpool finishing first!
July 30, 201510 yr There are 20! = 2432902008176640000 permutations. Though if you consider real possibilities then they decrease considerably, e.g. the top 5 teams are pretty much given: 5! * 15! = 156920924160000. That said you probably have better chances on lottery unless you are uncannily good at estimating the min and max positions for each team.

Considering his somewhat return to grace and ...Levy, that will be £50million please.IF he stays on his feet, and keeps performing, he'd be a good buy. £50m? I'm losing an idea of what's a fair price but that seems steep. £35-£40m?How do you think Utd are placed, pre-season, please? Edited July 30, 201510 yr by Spudulike

I've not seen much of Trippier. A good buy do you think? Edited July 30, 201510 yr by Spudulike
