Chelsea v Fiorentina

Gotta say I pre season is simply to generate fitness but these results and performances aren't exactly inspiring are they? I have a bad feeling about the season ahead as it is. Not sure why but I've felt that way since the last one ended and pre season has done nothing to ease those fears.

Mandzukic?  :blush2:

Horrible game with a few concerns...once again bereft of ideas once we reach the final third, no movement up front hardly any chances created.  Poor decision making by throwing high balls in the box when we have no 'target' man any longer other than from free kicks and even some of them were woeful.  We should have got most of the rust out by now but there is still a lot of work to do both defensively(still too many gaps on the right flank) and still being caught in the ball.  On a positive note, we pressed well at times which will create breakaways...but we need to capitalize on those.   I think we might be off to a slow start for a few weeks to come...  unless we can get these strikers and creators sorted.

If we were a sh*t team I'd change my expectations but watching our midfield fart about round the box waiting for useless strikers to make runs is something i can't bare again we had enough with Torres I'd rather be average and entertained that watch thst drivel another season, buy a winger and get Diego a bloddy operation please!!!

Diego with an operation misses a huge chunk of the season remember...and that's if they can do it..Jose said the scans show no problem so I doubt an OP will work.

Aina and traore were beastly 1st half and much more positive offensively than our first team full backs. RLC was a bit disappointing but no worse than our midfielders 2nd half and moses going off didn't help as we lost what was left of our width. Oscar was really good and hopefully he continues his form into the majority of this season.

Well by the sound of things if it stays like this and theres no improvment then joses probarbly gonna be sacked by oktober.....unless...its all a scam and come saturday we, re gonna come out all guns' a blazing and beat the taffs 5-0...!!!

Couldn't care less about the result, it's a preseason game after all, but the performance was worrying. If this is not a wake up call, I don't know what is. We may have a strong first eleven, but it's far from perfect and our bench is miles behind in terms of quality. Our inactivity in the transfer market is still confusing to me.

On a positive I like what I have seen with Moses he brings a different dynamic very direct,I would like to see him and hazard together he might work for us because basically a top notch version of him is what we need, why we never bought Pedro at that price is bewildering

What on earth is wrong with Chelsea? Forget about the title, with this performance, we won't make it on top 4. Need a better backup striker, a good play maker who drives the team forward and john stones. The build up play is good but until we make some changes, we should just park the bus.

I just they knew 100% what Diego's issue was. Is it physical or mental, both? It seems to boggle the brains of the beautiful minds down at Cobham. I would suggest get Dr. Eva to get a cold compress on Costa's groin. It may just help....

I have a feeling there is something happening behind the scenes. It must be the conspiracist theorist in me.

He said last season an operation is an option but if they can avoid it they will, something must be wrong if it keeps troubling him, I'd rather miss him and have him back full power but then again what if the time off impacts him permanently he is prone to getting rusty if not playing regularly, bit of a conundrum

Finally pre season is over! We played poorly but it's best to get those bad performances out of the way in a non competitive game, real business starts this weekend hopefully we will see the lads show what they can really do with more intensity. Moses was class also would give him a start on Saturday. UTC.

we are playing a mid table team, if that, on saturday, hardly like we're playing world beaters jeez. i would expect us to beat swansea at home.

Can't really see the point in having two dynamic wide players if they can't get the ball in the box and if on the odd occasion they do we don't have anyone at this moment in time to receive it, let alone put in the back of the net.  Two games, no goals for the League Champions does not look good at the moment.

i guess i saw a different game to all of you especially the second half.

This is the kind of Chelsea i want to see. High line, lots of pressure, energy, winning the ball, not allowing teams out of their own half.  Obviously they only played 45 minutes so could press for longer and with greater intensity but i was gripped.  Hope to see much more during the season.

Also Fiorentina play decent stuff, knocking it about with confidence.

Plenty of doom and gloom around, but actually quite justified, Falcao may not be the answer, he made plenty of darting runs, our midfield just didn't pass. not sure what else he could do, he actually dropped back to get some touches, even off JT..

If we are firing on all cylinders, if we aren't prepared we might get a nasty surprise. Swansea are not to be sniffed at, especially against big teams. That's how I see it anyway.

haha falcao was huffing and puffing he was doing so much back and forth, he just needs to get his fitness up and used to the way jose likes us to play, then he will be bossing games and putting in numbers on those goal stats, best believe!  :JC_doubleup:

true, but people are talking like swansea are of the calibre we've played pre-season; they are not. It is the first game of pre season and i expect us to be up for it like a mofo.

how do you compare them to PSG, Barca, Fiorentina, you can't. it is a long old season with many games, so we'll be fighting all the way and arsenal with their injury records will slip up at some point, it's inevitable; our other rivals have new players and aging players, so it will be harder for them too.

i think we will be okay.
