September 11, 201510 yr Haha sorry BQ, I'm not really the crying type. I do have a quiet respect for the ideal of the 'strong silent type'. I don't particularly enjoy feelings, for the most part they just prevent me from behaving rationally. Regarding foul language, it seems to be one of those site rules which has fallen by the wayside. We as a forum swear like sailors - blue is the colour of the air as well as the team! In reality he can't cry because the liquor has removed all traces of water moisture from his body. edit: If it was possible for him to cry, pure salt would just roll down his cheeks. September 11, 201510 yr Last Chance Harvey, not a great film as such, but very moving if your child has been raised by another man, or you are a step-pa.
September 11, 201510 yr If it were pure whisky I would be there licking the tears off his cheeks as they fell! I imagine that for the first time ever in his life, PloKoon13 is trying to cry. Just hoping whiskey comes out. Of Mice and Men
September 11, 201510 yr Don't worry bud I bought some backup inferior whisky just to make sure my stocks of Jameson were intact for the upcoming bender (starting Wednesday when my drinking buddy returns - the children I am currently with aren't really worth mentioning liquor-wise)
September 11, 201510 yr I very rarely shed tears at films - the only two I can think off are ET and Life is Beautiful. ET I can understand, but Life is Beautiful? I've never understood why it's so highly regarded.
September 11, 201510 yr Author "It's not your fault, it's not your fault, it's not your fault'l That bit was difficult to watch in Good Will Hunting.
September 11, 201510 yr Author I imagine that for the first time ever in his life, PloKoon13 is trying to cry. Just hoping whiskey comes out. Of Mice and Men Steinbeck classic. Poor Lenny.
September 12, 201510 yr I really thought Good Will Hunting was incredibly over-rated. In fact I can remember little of it, except I thought it was over-rated.
September 13, 201510 yr million dollar baby that got me a weeping and united 93 since i know what will happen to them from the beginning it's really tough
September 14, 201510 yr Author I really thought Good Will Hunting was incredibly over-rated. In fact I can remember little of it, except I thought it was over-rated. Wow. Amazing movie.
September 14, 201510 yr I'm with BeerQueen on this one. I think I may even have fallen asleep in the middle of it!
September 15, 201510 yr As mentioned in another thread.. The Railway Man. This sort of film makes me a right mess. Wouldn't dare go to a cinema to watch it.
November 19, 201510 yr I'm like Moi, in that I rarely cry watching a movie. Two that did are: a) Bang the Drum Slowly (With a very young Robert DeNiro); and b) Somewhere in Time (With a fabulously beautiful Jane Seymour).
December 7, 201510 yr I get a bit emotional (in a very manly way, of course...) at the end of 'The Dambusters' (bear with me) when Gibson tells Wallis that he has to go and write to the parents and wives of the dead airman. I got caught today (unexpectedly) when watching a film on Film4 called 'The Thin Grey Line'. In the film, Tyrone Power and Maureen O'Hara played a married couple and her death from old age and his reaction, while understated, was very moving.
December 7, 201510 yr I really thought Good Will Hunting was incredibly over-rated. In fact I can remember little of it, except I thought it was over-rated. Largely agree other than that ridiculous 'how do you like them apples?' scene. (edit: punctuation) Edited December 7, 201510 yr by PloKoon13
December 7, 201510 yr Largely agree other than that ridiculous 'how do you like them apples?' scene?Nope don't remember that either!
December 8, 201510 yr I really thought Good Will Hunting was incredibly over-rated. In fact I can remember little of it, except I thought it was over-rated.Saw it for the first time the other day and didn't get it... then again I'm used to Matt Damon being a good guy and not a prick so...
December 8, 201510 yr I literally don't remember that at all! The film obviously made a huge impact on me!
