December 5, 201510 yr Talking about player's performance, cesc was truly shocking dire, wait no sh*t sherlock but how come? crappy passing, strolling mode and half hearted desire.. I begin to see the reason behind that rumor why he was handpicked to be the ringleader of coup d'etat lol.. 14 points off top 4 now,.. only couple of weeks ago, that's the gap between us and the leader.. If we say we can still get top 4 then basically we can still win the title..
December 5, 201510 yr I think it's a bit of both. I don't think the type of players he has gone with are the players that fit in with his style in the long run. It can work for a season or 2, but in time it will become a problem. This type of football we are playing is so draining for the type of players we have, not just physically, but mentally too. Smaller build players who are mainly about flair will always struggle over time with this style because they need to put out more energy. Players in the past like Drogba, Lampard, Essien and Makelele were built for this style, they could play every season this way and it wouldn't have a negative affect on them physically or mentally. Mourinho can't play all of these flair players with this system anymore. He either need's to bring in the type of players that suit's this style or change his tactics. We can't have a mass clearout that is just absurd, so he will need to change his tactics. If he can't change his tactics and come up with something new, then i hate to say it but maybe we have to go with someone who will. Changing manager is something i really would not like to see happen, but what are you supposed to do if the manager can't come up with anything new ? Nobody's going to win CL and PL. I don't think JM has quite grasped that yet. He's fallen between two stalls and landed on his backside
December 5, 201510 yr Embarrassing crap, lost all respect to Jose. Would rather play the youth for the rest of the season and whittle out a team of players who actually give a sh*t. Bournemouth at home ffs.
December 5, 201510 yr I've just seen the result after spending the day in communication limbo. What happened FFS?! Bloody Bournemouth, that reportedly were missing I don't know how many first choice players...aaarrgghh...
December 5, 201510 yr I've just seen the result after spending the day in communication limbo. What happened FFS?! Bloody Bournemouth, that reportedly were missing I don't know how many first choice players...aaarrgghh... The game was awful for 80 minutes and then they scored an offside goal. That was presumably the point at which Courtois' acid kicked in.
December 5, 201510 yr I don't even know what to say after that. What a waste of £50 is all that springs to mind...
December 5, 201510 yr "Changing manager is something i really would not like to see happen, but what are you supposed to do if the manager can't come up with anything new ?" This is very true, and I don't want to be delusional when it comes to JM. But I look at a team like Newcastle for example which simply implodes! I saw the same tendency in our matches against the Saints and Liverpool, and it scared me, and there was indeed a point at which I thought JM had lost the players. I then look at the team which has played the last four matches, and I don't see that. We're more solid defensively, we're playing with more confidence in attack (although we ARE woefully ineffective). So yes we're sh*t (real sh*t!), but I don't see the kind of trend that would make me fire a manager. Even good teams falter, and right now everyone who play us will go 120% because of the delight of beating the Champions and JM ... that won't change with a new manager, I can tell you. But then again, this IS Chelsea, and on the current form, our manager would have been sacked many eons ago. So, how long does JM get, I don't know. I am actually agnostic here, I honestly don't think JM should be sacked, but if he is and a new guy comes in with new ideas and pushes us up, I would be happy of course. In the end, like everyone, I just want to see us put a winning streak together.
December 5, 201510 yr A few people in this thread, and other threads, have mentioned playing the youth players etc. I was wandering, could we even if we wanted to? I thought a 25 man squad is registered at the start of the season, so not sure how many players can be promoted from the youth ranks mid season. For the record there is at least 5/6 players in the youth teams or on loan I would like to see get some 1st team game time.

I was under the impression that you're allowed as many under-21 players as you like.
December 5, 201510 yr I have no idea why we keep on losing. Baffles me. The team is broken. Sad times.
December 5, 201510 yr Nobody's going to win CL and PL. I don't think JM has quite grasped that yet. He's fallen between two stalls and landed on his backside That could well be right. We've arguably shaped ourselves too lightweight for the league in order to suit European matches, and suffered for it. We can't break teams down when a draw is considered a good result for opposition, and we go into matches where teams might open up with little and momentum and less confidence.

December 5, 201510 yr I don't think I've felt so annoyed after a result in a long time. Today was a chance to overcome the...... Can't even be bothered typing it. We probably all feel equally dilapidated. Absolutely pissed off.
December 5, 201510 yr I have no idea why we keep on losing. Baffles me. The team is broken. Sad times. That's exactly my view. Whenever I discuss CFC's season with someone (including CFC fans) we're at a loss to explain what's happened. I can discuss some general themes (for example, some players not taking responsibility) but a more certain explanation is hard to obtain. I'm baffled and I can't readily think of a similar situation.
December 5, 201510 yr I'm obviously in a minority here but to see comments on the forum like 'players not putting in effort' or 'not caring' seemed wrong today. I thought they genuinely tried but are a unit devoid of confidence. I also think they are not managing our squad properly. Players like RLC and Remy deserve a chance when others aren't performing - this is normal. Players like Cesc don't become bad overnight but if they hit a dip then need to work to regain their place. I'm not sure continually playing players out of form in an underperforming team does anyone any good.
December 5, 201510 yr In my opinion, that was Jose's fault. He continues to give chances to players like Fabregas, Ivanovic, Hazard, Pedro, Costa, Matic and they're disappointing him, the team and the fans. Instead of throwing him to the bench for few games and see different options he keeps playing the same players. He dropped Costa for one game, did he learn from that? I don't think so. We must use fresh players, play different football if not we will continue in that way and will lose. I don't believe that Jose with his experience can't notice that. Drop Fabregas, he does nothing on the pitch, he doesn't help to defence and doesn't affect on the attack. Give Loftus-Cheek a chance to prove himself, he's ready to fight for his place and will give more than Fabregas. Drop Costa, use Remy and Traore. They both are waiting for their chance, will fight for their place and help more, especially Traore who has been waiting for his chance a lot. Drop Hazard and Pedro or one of them in each game, let's use Kenedy, Traore to show some new football, new tactics, new ways to score. Something different. It's easy for the teams against us. They know our tactic, especially when Fabregas and Matic are starting together, they already know which area is free. I'm starting to worry about Jose, but he deserves chance to fix it, he won us title last year, so let's be patient. COME ON CHELSSSSS!

He's dropped all of the players you listed at the start of your post bar Fabregas I think and when he does, people are crying out for their return, when Hazard missed a couple of games people said he should be playing, same with Costa after one game and the first half today, he became the reason we hadn't scored. Ivan was out through injury after everyone and his wife wanted him dropped and there was no improvement, Matic has been in and out. people keep on about him playing the same team but he has tried a lot of different combinations and the results have not been much different. Game play has gradually improved with players like Hazard coming back into a bit of form but with Fabregas so weak defensively and Matic not anything like the player of last season things wil take time, time that bringing a new manager in would likely mean would take even longer. Costa, Fabregas and Matic are shadows of last years players and obviously Jose doesn't feel RLC, Mikel, Remy etc are going to be any better, it's not an easy job as the wage packet he commands might suggest.
December 5, 201510 yr They over achieved last year. The warning signs were there when they lost to Bradford at home in the FA Cup and they got knocked out of the Champions league by the 10 men of PSG at home. Players like Cahill, Fabregas and Ivanovic are at that age and stage in their careers where they have won on the most things a footballer can possibly win and are in an aged based decline and where motivation is clearly a issue. Where is the hunger in the play ??? They do not get outplayed - they get outhought, outrun and undone by teamwork - a great leveler for players of less abilty. You add to this this bad eggs like Costa and Oscar who clearly don't want to be there. Watch Oscars pefromance today - was he playing for his manager?? In terms of transfer policy - It has been a disaster since Juan Cuadrado and selling De Bruyne and Schrulle. Hence we are now left with a transfer policy that results in Papa - will never play for Chelsea, Pedro - Not suited to the Premier league, Kennedy - is not ready and Falcao - legs are gone. You add that all together and you have a recipe for disaster.
December 5, 201510 yr I wonder which layer of management deadwood is calling the shots these days, Clearly JM is a good manager, and clearly we have a bunch of players that won the the PL by a country mile, so it's not logical to point the finger in either direction. Somewhere in the corridors of power, where slimy things lurk, spanners have been put in the works for whatever reason. We're just an entry on RA's balance sheet, and maybe he's lost interest too. He's lost interest and yet willing to cough out ~500M of his hard earned cash to build the club a new stadium so the club can compete with the elites across europe. Kek

So he keeps playing them and losing as well? What's the point? RLC was fantastic against Maccabi Tel Aviv, he came good against Crystal Palace, he had "bad" half against Aston Villa. He can't do worse than Fabregas.
December 5, 201510 yr just got back a minute ago, cannot articulately put into words how bad that was. An absolute shambles. I find it amazing how bad we are in possession, particularly in the final third.. Go out of the champions league midweek and Jose's gone
December 5, 201510 yr okay lets take a time out here, Chelsea have won everything, I mean everything, we are still the prem defending champions albeit defending it poorly, it took Arse 10 years to win a trophy for ferks sake and and lost at West Brom last week, Liverpool have not won a league title for 28 years or so, Manu are a joke and plastic city lost to Stoke are clueless in the CL and look unlikely again to do anything this year in it.We will always be the first London club to win CL. We are going through a shocking period of form that goes back to a very bad pre season and the appallingly handled 'doctor' incident when Jose had a melt down and we should have lost to Swansea... Something went on, we don't know what but it's clear that its not been sorted out (we know he was upset over the Cech transfer) I fear Jose will be gone soon to be replaced by who, looks like Liverpool just made the signing of the season and Guardiola is on his way to plastic City at the end of the season, I hear Moyes is available though. This season is a right off, Jose or who ever needs to rebuild if that means Costa Hazard Oscar etc are sold so be it get the cash and get players in who want to play for Chelsea. At the moment I am in a weird way sort enjoying our predicament and the stick we get from others is only what we have given them for years and they know it's only a blip, a period of adjustment which is probably just what we needed but as sure as night follows day we will be back and they know it. So I am taking this season off ready for the next and what will be will be, now calm down and get behind the club, the manager while he's here and every team he puts out and remember most are just passing through.
December 5, 201510 yr So he keeps playing them and losing as well? What's the point? RLC was fantastic against Maccabi Tel Aviv, he came good against Crystal Palace, he had "bad" half against Aston Villa. He can't do worse than Fabregas. He's tried the options he feels are the most viable and had some improvement, I'm the same as you in not being privvy to training sessions but you can bet Jose is there watching the other players that we all keep harping on about when a player in a similar position underperforms and you can bet he knows far more about them and how well they would do than we do. He's paid because he knows what he's doing, he's trying to get the best he can get out of the players he feels are most likely to get us out of this, the old adage of "why doesn't he just play the kids or such and such a player is OK from your front room when it has no consequence but Jose is playing this in the real world and his decisions are based on what he sees everyday and his instinct. He doesn't keep playing them and losing, He had Ramires suring up the midfield and he was out injured today which showed, we have nbeen better the last few games and played ok today, the fact the other team were called Bournemouth makes todays outcome sound worse than it was, we done ok considering we have no in form striker.
