A difference between sponsors and sponsors revenue, don't you think?. Anyways,As an example Chevorlet only pay UTD the full 47m if they hit certain performance targets & Incentives. Cup final appearance etc. Barca sponsors paid out bonuses on top of usual pay out after them winning the treble. Logic suggests Chelsea will lose some commercial revenue/full pay outs from certain contracts after a much lower league finish than last and no CL place. The new deal kicks in for everyone not just us. Oh did I mention I might be wrong?.

What does everyone think we need? I think a CB, a DM and a Striker are vital in the Summer. Maybe even an AM and LB. but if we say bring in three players and embed youth I think that will be enough for us to push for top 4.

I actually think getting in the EL could massively benefit us. Get youngsters playing in that some could break through.

A new coach, a new system, probably two centrebacks, probably two midfielders, a clear-out, a new contract for JT, Emenalo to be removed from his position, a new Sporting Director and ambition.

 

Basically I'd have a few players who were untouchable (Courtois, Traore, Cahill maybe Azpi) and apart from that I'd sound out offers for anyone depending on the coach's plan. 

I don't think the club is in as much trouble as every thinks. Look at the points taken from after Christmas and we're right up there at the top. The reason we are where we are is because Mourinho thought it a good idea to piss off as many people as possible.

 

With a new manager coming in that'll actually play the attacking football that our players deserve and a few tweeks to the current selection of players i see no reason why we wouldn't be favourites for the season ahead.

Might be wrong (hope I am). Imo we will spend no where near the amounts the media are touting as transfer kitty. Except if a very large portion of the 130/150m is generated from player sales. We are planning to build a new stadium, will forecast reduced gate receipts from the interim temporary ground phase, have already lost substantial commercial revenue from sponsors due to bad performance in the league and we will miss the 40m champs league revenue. Total revenue will go up on the books next year due to Yoko, the people that sponsor our training kit & new TV deal – but relative to our peers we will lose growth. Therefore I doubt a 130m splash this summer. Like I said I might be wrong.

I would much rather see us bring back Christensen. He's playing at a higher level than Kalas and seem's to be progressing quicker.

Just cherry picking from the above. I definitely would like to see a Makalele/Viera/Wise type. We need that kind tank power, because that is historically the CFC team that has been best. We need cover on CB too. Ivan is looking good there, but his form can dip(!). I am not sure Stones is the answer, though! Would love to see Christensen back, being integrated with Cahill and Ivan. Azi is my hero, so he will stay ;). Baba and Kennedy are actually decent on LB I think. 

 

In terms of leavers; I reckon that Matic, Oscar, Hazard, Costa and Pedro could all be gone, leaving a lot of work to do to find replacements. Mikel will be happy to sign a contract/stay as a squad player, unless he is offered silly money from China or something. 

 

On spending. Spending SMARTLY is much more important than spending lot. Just look at Man Utd and NCL and what they have spent. I actually see significant downside risks to the "buying craze" being talked about in the Manchester clubs. Obviously, JM and Pep know their stuff, but if they miss out on just a couple, they can quickly spunk their "war-chests" in this market. 

 

Having a solid youth academy is crucial in that respect, and if we use ours, we will be so much better for it. 

 

As for objectives next season. Top four is a must. Pure and simple. Challenging for the PL while getting CL is exactly where we need to be, no less imho.

100 million? Wildly optimistic at best. I think given his 'performances' this year, we'll be lucky to get our 30 mil back

Really hope we get a manager in that has us dominating games again. The minute we come up against a decent team, we seem put 10 men behind the ball, and try and win the ball high up and counter.

That sort of tactic worked when we had one of the best defences in Europe, and a drogba who was permanent out ball to relieve the pressure.

Centre defence and centre midfield need massive work, and as much as it pains me to say this, I hope we can develop as good a passing game as psg showed over the 2 legs. No verratti tonight but they still dominated possession.

I'm not saying possession wins football matches, but it would nice to see a club of our stature play on the front foot in the big games, especially at the bridge.

When is the last time a top team has changed their tactics to try and nullify us? It always seems to be the other way round.

No club will give £100mil for Hazard, not even China is that stupid. At this time I'm not sure if Real Madrid wants him anymore. They won't be moving Ronaldo for probably another 2 seasons.

PSG may offer £65 if we are lucky. I would grab the money and run!

They were probably slightly exaggerating by saying 10 but we definetely need to do a major clean up and then sign new players. We need loyal consistent players like Lampard, Cech, Terry and Drogba. Given his influence this season I think PSG and RM could be forgiven for going for Reus instead.

I feel like I'm the only one who would keep Matic if only for another season. He's been appalling this year but just remember how good he was when he returned. Maybe under a new manager we can see the best of him again.

I don't think firesale would fix anything unless we have solid replacement lined up and ready to go. Looking back at the PSG tie, could we have used an energetic Ramires? Absolutely, he just went without being replaced, and RLC is still warming up the bench. 3-4 will go, but I'm against any wholesale change. Pedro, rough start to his PL career, but if he's keen, I'm definitely give him another year. Matic should be at his prime, why he's been so crap over the last 12 months is beyond me. Does he deserve another chance? Well, he couldn't get any worse, maybe he will prosper given a different role and work on the other foot.

We will see who Cone wants. I think next season we will have completely new squad. I would want him to bring Vidal if it's possible. Matic out - buy Krychowiak. Hazard Oscar out - spend Hazard money on Griezmann, spend Oscar money+some Hazard£ on Lacazette. We also need to look for new defenders. I'm guessing Cahil will be out too.

Courtios is disappointing. We had big hopes but it turned out he's nothing special. And no I don't want to hear BS he's still young. (He will be 24 in a few months). If he's still young then he should be loaned again. We can't aford him making mistakes and deal with bad ball distribution.

Out of the players in our squad, I think Courtois, Zouma, Terry, Azpi and Willian are essential. I'd keep Cahill too because he is English (Homegrown) and shows some leadership. The rest I really couldn't care less if they stay or go. A few I actively want to leave (Matic, Hazard), but others I genuinely have no opinion on. 

There is no point in clearing the squad next season. The chance is not that great that we'll make top 4, because City and Arsenal will definitely achieve a top 4 spot. And we would have to fight it out with Spurs, Leicester, United and Liverpool, which - given the current performances by our players - will not be an easy task. 

I think (or hope) that the new manager will have a look at the squad and give the players a chance to redeem themselves. After all, even if we go out and spend big, there is no guarantee nowadays of getting a top 4 finish (just look at united). I would rather prefer a top 6 finish with some of our young players to get significantly more playing time. We're simply too far away from the big guns, so trying to splash the cash won't necessarily brings us that much closer to them. 

Mikel, Baba, Oscar, Cuadrado and Remy all to be sold, Miazga and Loftus-Cheek to get loaned to a PL team. Christensen, Ake and Musonda all to be recalled, and Aurier, Mustafi, Nainggolan, Xhaka, Pjanic and Icardi to be signed in the summer.

I just want to see leaders out on the pitch again. Costa and Ivanovic (despite his poor form) seem to be the only strong characters - to use Brenton Rodgers phrase - in the team. When the going gets tough in games I barely see any others standing up for themselves and attempting to lead the team forward.

 

I think finding leaders should be a recruitment priority in the next transfer window. Arguably our most successful team had Lamps, Ash, Terry, Ballack, Essien, Drogba and Cech. All of who were incredibly strong-willed. 

 

I think Nainggolan and Mustafi are pretty good shouts in that respect and I think they are attainable.

For me it comes down to the spine. That's what bought us a decade of great success.

JT could be in that list for another year, Zouma arguably could be too. That for me says we need two HUGE players, one in defence, one in midfield. That's what the focus of this summer should be, players like Nainngolen, Pogba (dreaming I know), Varane, Laporte (getting there), maybe even Stones.

 

Around that I'd bring back Christensen, Musonda, Ake, Baker and Solanke and integrate them right into the first-team squad alongside Traore, Abraham, Loftus-Cheek, Cahill and Azpi (depending on the formation). Everyone else (Matic, Mikel, Ivanovic, Rahman, Willian, Pedro, Oscar, Hazard, Remy) is either expendable or open to big offers.

 

Then we give Conte time, support and freedom to mould the team as he sees fit. We build something that won't be perfect overnight and we don't expect it to be. We build something that is about the future of this club as well as it's past. Chelsea has always been about Beauty and the Beast, a wild, untamed, beating heart in the centre of the most affluent part of England. A combination of brute strength and fashionable excess.

 

Robben and Lamps couldn't dance on the bodies of the Arsenal midfield without Carvalho and Essien knocking them down first. Charlie Cooke didn't thrive without having Ron Harris backing him up. Zola couldn't weave magic without Wisey needling the opposition. We don't just pass around teams, we steamroller over them and we've forgotten that....well except for Costa.

 

 

We go back to our roots, we aren't ashamed of them, we don't try and copy Barcelona, we just be ourselves. If we aren't liked, who cares? We're probably loved right now because we're not a threat, but who wants that? f**k 'em all.
