Romelu Lukaku

And here was me thinking I was going to read something new about lukaku who looked great against Ireland once he got going. Nice touch for a big guy and quite quick as we'll, but lazy in defense.

Higuain looked good for Argentina against Venezuela in the cola Americana as did Vargas for chile.

Funny world when there are more good strikers than defenders.

Smalling who had a great season last year and kept one of the best defensive records in the league and is picked ahead of Cahill for England. Yep, he's currently better than Cahill and Terry.

Bailly as i said before can't be judged as he's never played in this league yet. He has all the physical attributes to be an incredible centre half and i believe Mou can do with him what he started to do with Zouma.

So to summarise, yes. I do.

I can never swap Smalling for Cahill.

Time to move on. RIPJose has derailed the thread enough with his inability to comprehend.

Nice brace from the big fella.

Quite clearly says RIPmourinho, not Jose. Obviously English isn't your first language though so it's okay, buddy.

If you're going to correct me, at least do it properly. RIP Mourinho is actually your screen name. And I'll call you what I want, you nonce.

Lukaku is a bit hit and miss. Took his two goals well but against Italy, apart from that one chance he had, he was totally in their pocket the whole game. In tight spaces he seems to be useless.

Also he should win a lot more of those headers being a big tank that he is. Not a very good target player....

Thats what worries me about him, the really top players can gave a sh*te game but still pop up with something important like a goal or an assist but I find when Lukaku"s having a bad game he doesn't produce anything. It's like all his confidence goes if the game isn't going his way,

drogba didn't come into his own until mid 20's, so if lukaku stays on the right track he could be a fantastic striker by 26/27 years old. considering his age, his goal scoring record is very good in one of the best leagues in europe. i think the criticism he gets from people is unwarranted, and is usually mainly because of what he says off the field, than his actions on it.

Great observation, but has it ever crossed your dense mind that not everyone lives in the same time zone as you?

Oh no, don't worry. I released you were a foreign fan straight away, buddy.

Nice touch and Lukaku don't go into the same sentence.

No need for the last bit.

grow up

Drogba joined his first top level club at age 26. Lukaku is 3 years younger than that AND has been playing top flight for 4+ years already. Its incomparable.

If after 4 years in PL top flight he isn't Drogba then he never will be. But there is no shame in that.

I think thats very unfair on Lukaku. Playing for National Team can be a tough job (Costa) and playing against Italy's Bonucci, Barzagli, Chiellini can be daunting for the best of the best. Yes, Lukaku was hopeless against Italy, but lets not overlook how much his game has developed in the last year.

PS - This italian team seems so well drilled, I would not be surprised one bit with them winning the Euros.

It wasn't just a dig at his game against Italy. He's never had a good first touch.

At times he has looked to have a better touch and overall game play than Costa. And before people jump down my throat, NO, i dont want lukaku here.

But I also think most of the time people are very unfair on him. The same people who are trolling lukaku are also the ones who want Morata whose game against Czech republic was a nightmare. a 35 year old Aduriz out-performed him.

Lukaku's improvement in the last year and his goal scoring ability makes him a wonderful prospect. His first touch is not his USP. You dont get to score 60 goals and assists 28 goals, being one of the best strikers in the PL for nothing. Also, calling him a "belgian darren bent" is down right ridiculous.
