I disagree. Every report i've seen has stated that Conte wanted to pair Morata upfront with Costa. Now, we may have given up on Morata but i don't think us going for Lukaku now changes anything with regards to Costa leaving or not. I think one can only assume that Conte now sees Romelu as a partner for DC up front.

Why did we pay £30 odd million for Michy then who looks a far better footballer than Lukaku?

Would prefer to spend the €70m odd on mussachio, ricky Rodriguez, and gabigol.

I like lukaku and morata, but the prices being banded about are ridiculous.

If the club can afford it, then so be it, but i dont like seeing us get bent over.

Yeah he's just a big lump.

I get he scores goals but his technique and over all ability on the ball is terrible, spending over £50 million on him is laughable IMO.

But to me its ovbious Conte wants three good/excellent strikers in the squad. Which is sensible since two are going to be playing at all times and we need top class options.

So, point being. I would have liked us to find a better option then Lukaku too but he is a good player and a proven goalscorer in England. Sh*t euros but so did many other players, like Zlatan and Pogba for example which United is paying a ridicilous amount of money for.

It's not even the our money thing but the players out there moving for less who are far better footballers than Lukaku.

I honestly don't see any significant improvement in him since we sold him a few seasons ago. His touch and all round game is still pretty poor IMO.

We laugh at United possibly spending £100 million on Pogba but us spending £60 odd million on Lukaku would be worse.

Maybe for you but to me Lukaku is an average striker who hasn't improved since he left us and we have better prospects at the club.

Can you rely heavily in a CL decider on higuain?

The guy has missed 3 1v1 in 3 different finals, cost RM a spot in CL final etc etc.

All of that does not change the fact that he is one of the best strikers in the world.

I don't think I mentioned Higuain, I don't rate him as one of the best strikers in the world either.

Aguero, Costa, Lewandowski, Aubameyang, Suarez, Greizmann, Zlatan and so on are far better forwards than Higuain.

Lukaku dosen't fit our 4-4-2 / 4-2-4 at all. He is a terrible target striker, if you watched Belgium-Sweden in euro 2016 you could see a huge contrast between his and Zlatans ability to hold the ball up for the team. He is lazy and dosen't press much as a first defender, wich is needed when we are sacrificing a central midfielder for a second striker.

Why aren't we focussing on defenders? Outside of Zouma, who is coming off a serious injury, we have three over the hill CBs that are all 30+ and a questionable LB in Rahman.

Loads of players embarrassed our lot last season though. The F.A cup goal he scored against us wasn't exactly great play by Lukaku either, our defending was atrocious.

Tbf we have been heavily linked with loads of centre backs in the last few weeks, compared to just 1 tweet saying we have bid for lukaku.

We've been linked with many indeed but my point was more about fullback. It's a huge problem area yet we don't seem to be addressing it.
