This game is brilliant. Arsenal are a joke ( as usual ) and we are even treated to a Mignolet mistake

I was just this second thinking that one of the unfortunate downsides of this result will be the inevitable and ubiquitous hagiographies of Coutinho, the flakiest of flaky players.

 

He's a player insufficiently dynamic to fit into a proper system, and insufficiently good to build a team around.

They will follow the usual arsenal trend. They suck at the start, everyone wants wenger out. They go on a run around novemeber/december where they reach near top of the league, Wenger will be a genius again. Then for the rest of the season they beat the bottom half teams whilst dropping points against any team worth their salt to finish in third.

 

Rinse and repeat.

Funnily enough career wise they have the exact same number of goals and assists, with Oscar playing 1000 minutes less.

But can't praise a player without degrading one of ours hey

I'll judge on what I see not some stats on minutes played. They both play a similar role for Brazil and if I had to choose I'd rather have Coutinho.

This game shows why Arsenal will win nothing again.

I was worried last year the rest of the pack might actually be bad enough for Arsenal to win it purely by showing up but even then they couldn't handle the pressure.

Oh, game on. Liverpool still can't defend from set pieces which is great to see.

The commentary on Sky Sports is terrible, it's 3-4 but both Martin Tyler and Gary Neville sound depressed. We need one of those Spanish commentators right now, they are annoying, but at least they show some passion.
