That's what it looks like to me.  I haven't seen the kid play, but from what it sounds like he is an oscar type player.  Not really seeing the advantage of bringing this guy in when we already have Oscar.

Yes, because replacing Oscar with an worse player will improve us as a team. If you thought Oscar is frustrating wait till you see this guy for half a season and you will start screaming for him to leave. The real problem will be when we will realize he won't be going anywhere for at least a few years. Whats worse is this is not even a Conte buy he surely wanted Nainggolan but Emenalo and his gang continue to fail year after year without anyone raising an eyebrow on what the hell is happening

 

Seriously the entire Seria A take us for absolute donkeys. Which frankly I can't say we don't deserve it, surely by now Abramovic must have noticed just how freaking terrible Emenalo and Marina are.

If making comparisons I'd say he's somewhere in between Lampard/Meireles. I'm not his biggest fan tbh, I don't think his technique is anything special and he often has to rely on his physicality to get himself out of trouble (we should see a few "technical fouls" from him). I'm happy if we sign him though, Kante/Matic/Brozovic in the big games should keep the score respectable and hopefully be enough to qualify for the CL. He's certainly better than Sturaro/Parolo who Conte worked with at the Euros so it will be interesting to see how he fits in tactically.

i'm maybe more positive to serie a signings than i should be, but i really think that conte is trying to graft his own team based on his preferences. it would make very little sense to me for the club searching for players in serie a unless it's players from a wish list signed by our manager.

What exactly does Emenalo have to do with this? His job is to identify targets, its not his job to convince players to join us or decide how much we spend on each player. How do you know which buys are Conte buys and which arent? How do you know he doesnt want him? How about Kanté? This notion that so and so isnt a manager buy is just bollocks of the highest order. Cant wait for the transfer window to shut so I dont have to filter through 6 or 7 menstrual cramps to read some rumours about players we are after.

Yes, he identified Baba, Papy, Pato, presumably Brozovic and more. Like that's not a hint on how bad he is at doing his job.

We could have signed this guy months ago for firsts. Secondly don't you find it strange we only started to get linked to him now when we likely already failed with all the other targets (btw Nainggolan is confirmed for a failed transfer, could have been more who knows). Even if Conte gave his word to bring this guy here it's crystal clear it wasn't his first priority nor his first target for this position.

 

How about Kanté?

Cuadrado showed at Juve he's still a very good player and they still want him. Just didn't work for us, how can the club know that it wouldn't work out when they were signing him?

Can't we at least give new potential signings a chance before writing them off because recent signings haven't worked.

We went all out for Radja. If Roma did not want to sell him, we could not keep a gun to their head and make them, could we?

As much as I would like to blame the board, this seems like a Conte signing. We are STACKED in midfield options, atleast in mumbers, with Matic, Kante, Oscar, Cesc, Mikel, RLC, Nat.

Brozovic might not have been his planA, but surely would be his planB. 

Yes, the board have screwed us up massively in the last couple of windows, but I dont see this buy as their failings.

As for Oscar, lets leave it aside for some other time and thread.

I do agree that we have been awful in our transfer dealing. We would have spent 45mil pounds on LB position in the last 2 years, and yet, our best LB is probably playing for Bournemouth.

and the funny thing is i joined in January 2016 about 4 months after we signed Pedro!
