April 28, 20179 yr We're linked to Marchisio. With Conte managing us, this transfer could be possible. The club will probably need to pay 25m, after supposedly having a 17m bid rejected. https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/3425830/chelseas-claudio-marchisio-juventus-federico-bernardeschi/ http://www.football.london/chelsea-fc/transfer-news/chelsea-close-signing-claudio-marchisio-12956553 Edited April 28, 20179 yr by Jezz
April 28, 20179 yr How long does he have left on his contract? 99% sure its just his agent angling for a new deal
April 28, 20179 yr Unbelievable all round player, I'd happily have him here for two seasons while we develop the likes of Chalobah and RLC, not for 25 million though, under 20 would be reasonable in my eyes. He's quite injury prone though, so it's a bit of a gamble, but to be honest I can't see the club sanctioning it with our over 30s policy. He'd be the ideal partner for Kante though, since he's a true box to box midfielder
April 28, 20179 yr Yes at 31 you would think we would be looking to play him as a squad player though initially perhaps to replace Matic and help develop the youngsters. Personally I think Conte needs to loan out those two if he does not plan on using them next season. I think in a 4-4-2 or 4-5-1 RLC would boost several EPL teams next season.

April 28, 20179 yr Quality player - one of the best centre mids I've seen in 25 years watching footy, but that doesn't mean I think we should sign him. We should be looking for the 'next Marchisio' if there is such a player. Would prefer we sign someone of the same mould as Dembele... Tolisso for me. Edited April 28, 20179 yr by the special one

Absolutely agree with this, I think he is ideal for now and could pass so much knowledge onto chalobah / Loftus Cheek / Baker it would make so much sense. Would a midfield contingent of Marchisio Kante Fabregas Baker Chalobah Ake Loftus Cheek be good enough? In my opinion yes absolutely inexperienced if injuries go against us though.

Never heard of him, anyone who is similar to Dembele i need to watch.
May 4, 20179 yr Would love him here. I just don't think these premium italian players are moving from sunny Italy to rainy England. Premier League throws so much uncertainty to players like Marchisio who are semi-gods in Serie A. No reason to move really.
