Chelsea Vs Boro (PL) Mon 08/05 2017 KO 20:00 GMT

Just on the way back from the game, can't help smiling, nothing like being in Matthew Harding Lower singing together with the rest of the fans as night falls and Chelsea rise to the occasion, such an assured performance, so enjoyable to be there, a calm and professional victory by the team, and great to see JT getting some minutes near the end of the game too.

Really got that feeling of confidence now, so happy to see this resilient Chelsea team doing what has to be done on the final approach to the end of the season! Almost there lads, KTBFFH!

Saw this online:

"Grandpa tell us again about the great Tottenham of 2017!"

Well kiddo, what a great team they were

"What did they accomplish??"

They gave Chelsea a bit of a scare for one week and finished above Arsenal

"Wow!"

Would honestly find it hilarious if they had a massive collapse and Arsenal finished above them again

Just three points from the title, leads to think back to the key moments this year:

August - late winners in the opener at the Bridge vs West Ham and on the road at Watford give us hope after last year's debacle.

October - total destruction of Everton and Man United at home builds confidence changes in Conte's system can make us contenders and puts early September failures behind us.

December - Huge come from behind wins at Man City and at Home to Spurs shows we are legitimate title contenders.

February - throttling of Arsenal at the Bridge continues the title march.

April - Solid wins home to Man City and at Everton shake off shock loss to Palace. Wins fend off Spurs challenge.

April FA Cup semi - does not need a lot of words. One of the most exciting Chelsea matches of the past several seasons. Statement game. Set the tone for the run in. Only team to put four past Spurs this year.

May - win one more of final three and win the title!! :bluescalf::bluescalf:

What huge signings this year in Kante, Alonso and Luiz.

What a year mates! Cannot wait for the celebration at the Bridge in a couple of weeks!!

Come on you Chelsea!! :bluescalf::bluescalf:

Brilliant key points there :JC_doubleup:

While I think Everton was our best and most excitable performance I think most of us will agree that beating Spurs in the semi final was the game of the season.

Unfortunately mathematically it can't happen but how funny would that have been.

I know, but I just find it hilarious no matter how good they are in a season, they somehow manage to f**k it up.. I mean last season they finished 3rd in a 2 horse race hahahahaha

It has been a truly glorious and fun season. Win one more for the title and then dispatch Gooners at Wembley for the double!!

I am a little greedy, so let's win the rest of the three and be the first PL team to ever win 30 in one season

I think I would die for Conte, he's the best thing to happen to think club in years.

Every other team circling around trying to get him need to honestly f**k off, he could actually build a dynasty here

Just now, Don Conte said:

boro were honestly relegated before the game started. they were gutless. Not that i am complaining

Yeah although we made it really difficult for them they didn't even try to get a goal. They probably would have been applauded had they attacked and got beat 6-0 or 5-1 or something. To go down like that is very gutless.

I literally Came when Matic scored.. I remember the feeling when spurs ended our winning streak. Glad we knocked them out in both the league and fa cup..

Fingers crossed, I'm not really thinking of the FA cup final yet. When the league is confirmed I will

The record would be sweet too, records are like a nice little extra.

On my way back home from the game with that sweet feeling of having almost done it! I expected Boro to play for their lives but it was evident from kick off that they saw themselves relegated before playing. We played well but it was almost like a training match. One of the worst, if not the worst team I've seen this season at the Bridge.

Anyway, next match we could close the PL!

Really assured performance all round, surprisingly comfortable. Could have been 5 or 6 quite easily really. Fabregas really was magic and the standout performer today. Also though Matic played a really solid game.

Almost there!

Boro fan here, literally only registered to say your manager is a class act, even if he has ruined my birthday, haha.

Good luck closing out the title win, lads. Much deserved.

Thanks. Hope you're back in the PL for the 2018/19 season :JC_doubleup:

I think Conte is right, Cesc has improved, that's no easy feat at this stage in his career, he was a passenger last season, what a turn around, now he always makes an impact, but to be fair at this point in his career I think that's a good role for him, especially as he seems to switch off when a regular starter, a super sub and starts games where teams need unlocking, if he is happy with that we have a perfect player for it.
