He got Fulham to play offs last season and didn't he take Watford up? Fulham play a lot more attractive football than the sh*t we get served up.

I watched both of this years play offs and Fulham along with Sessegnon were bang average. Derby were nothing to write home about either.

Not specifically aimed at you, mate, but I am honestly amazed at the amount of non-Chelsea football some people in this forum watch.  You're saying Fulham play "a lot more attractive football" than we do, but I honestly have not seen anything of a Fulham game in years, and then only when we played them,

Similarly, I saw someone else in a different thread saying we could be like a rich man's Stoke.  Now I would bet money on the fact that that poster, and no other non-Stoke fan has chosen to watch ANY Stoke games apart from the two we play against them each season, BUT they had obviously picked up on the internet meme regarding Stoke and knew that it was a shorthand, internet way of describing something, regardless of its truth or relevance.

We also have a lot of posters saying  X team play this way, Y team have a 6-3-1 formation in EVERY game, Z team's midfield strengths are this or that.   And lots and lots of other examples I can't be arsed to go find, but you know what I mean.

I struggle to see how football fans of any specific club, never mind Chelsea, find the time and opportunity to watch complete matches of lots and lots of other teams, sufficient to form the comprehensive and rigid opinions  that they do, and to form those opinions to such an extent that they pour such virulent scorn and hatred upon things or posters that don't conform to those views.

I also know that we have a lot of posters who  champion the causes of specific of our loan army not having been given a chance, and I don't argue with any of that based on my view that we should be giving the youth a chance and hope we don't get relegated, but I don't understand how we can be so convinced of player X  needs to be in the first team because he has had a storming season on loan at West sh*ttington FC. (Or Celtic)  I think RLC deserves to be in the squad next year, but honestly,  @RIP Mourinho , how many full Palace matches have you watched this season?  How much MOTD highlights? I honestly want to understand how people form their opinions on limited information.

It truly does amaze me how much time people have and how they manage to watch three or four different games properly when these games are  being played at the same time.

Still, I suppose "received" wisdom is wisdom of a sort.

I'm not going to pretend to watch every Crystal Palace, Dortmund, Swansea match etc. If its on tele at lunch time/ tea time k/o i'll sit and watch, if not there's an account on Youtube that uploads match clips from our loan army. Not just the clips of them doing a bit of skill and making it look better with effects but everything. Every time they misplace a pass, every time they lose the ball and also everything good they do. Sure, you don't see the bigger picture but you can get a very good idea of how they did in the game.

I've probably only watched about 6/7 Crystal Palace matches in full (two of them being the Chelsea games, so irrelevant to RLC) but have watched almost all of RLC's match highlights over the season.

I doubt any one person can watch so many games. I remember people telling us how great Renato Sanches and Krychowiak were, but they came to the PL and were hopeless. You can't judge off one season obviously, but to hype these players up beyond belief, you expect them to show some of that ability. I try to remain skeptical about most football fans views of players now as you just never know how good some players are, it can be pretty much a lucky dip quite a bit of the time.

Same as that young kid at Lazio, malihilovic is it? I saw a couple games of Lazio's and he didn't exactly stand out as the best player on the pitch. At 21 years old you never know how a player will turn out. Like I said, it's a luck of the draw sometimes. It's why it frustrates me when people hype up these 19/20 year old players, but totally neglect our own youngsters who are doing well on loan or at youth level. Sometimes it would be nice to show faith in our own.

If reports are true sarri has signed a one year extension so thats him out if the running(for now) i would opt for morris on a one year personally think he deserves a chance after all he has done for the club plus he is chelsea he will have the desire and passion im sure and if it works out brilliant if not then always the option of sarri the season after? Be nice to get some more of our youth involved to be honest so maybe morris is the one to integrate them in?

who knows maybe even have lamps as his assistant :-)

I would like to see Morris given a chance too but maybe as an assistant initially. What about bringing back Guus for a season as DOF with Morris working underneath?

Jokanovic took Watford to the Premier League and got sacked, now he is very close to do the same with Fulham. I think he knows his job well.

Can’t be arsed with Hiddink again. First time he was fantastic, last time he wasn’t great. I imagine now he’d be even worse, he’s getting on abit now isn’t he?

I am going for Ancelotti with one of Lamps, Terry or Jody as his number two.

We need a manager that will start to utilise the FA Youth Cup winning talent of the last five years.  Ancelotti gave Josh Mceachran a good chance last time he was here and has the experience to keep us challenging.  Remember those 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8-0 wins in his last reign.   Jody would be my current favourite for the number two role given his knowledge of the youth players.

I would also have no problem if Conte continued with all internal issues sorted out, but I can't see it happening.

Sarri has told Sky Italia post-match that he is uncertain about his future at Napoli as it will be difficult to keep hold of the current crop of players with top clubs chasing after them. The tweet is De Laurentis admitting Sarri is unwilling to renew his contract.

De Laurentiis is such a little sh*t. The rumours seem to be pointing towards Sarri coming here. If he can bring Jorginho with him we should go for it. Either him or Jardim.

It seems like we aren't even approaching any new managers. Another season of Conte is looming. No transfer targets either and no links to even a DoF. This new tactic of sitting around doing nothing is just great to watch. It feels like we are being run by a covert Spurs/Arsenal fan who is trying to screw us over from the inside.

When you say that we have been heavily linked to Sarri over the last few days.

We are being linked with Lewandowski, Martial and Seri, I have also seen links to Aguero and Milinkovic Savic. I see only Seri and Martial as realistic options in those but the press are always going to struggle to find out what is happening at this time in the window.

And to be honest until we know who our manager is going to be I can't imagine we would make any signings.

Sarri links are dead, reports we haven't even contacted him and Zenit are in for him.

I had patience last season and the season before. We failed in both seasons to buy players without panic buying on the last day. I have very little faith in the club.

Seri cannot play in cold weather. He won't come to us. Martial rumours are dead once the window started and he plays in Hazards position. This is the trend of our transfer window. Links to players we have no chance of getting, fans getting excited and the club in reality buying an average alternative.
