As per reports, Raine’s #Chelsea takeover shortlist:

🔹 Todd Boehly's consortium
🔹 Sir Martin Broughton's consortium
🔹 The Ricketts family
🔹 Mystery bidder

Initial gut feeling is that Boehly would be the best owner for us out of those.

No way to know for sure obviously but he seems to have the right credentials.

Don't see a lot of support for Sir Martin and Lord Coe on here. Why is that?

I know precious little about any of the bidders but given they are British and Chelsea fans I would have thought that would give them an edge.

Apparently the mystery bidder is Stephen Pagliuca:

He has "serious money" evidently.

so is:

American with Swiss, Spud and American backers.

English, with English and American backers.

American family with American backer

American with American backers.

one way or another we will have US owners in part.

He owns Atalanta currently which may count against him as you cant own two clubs in the same uefa comp.

Hmm, do not Watfords owners also own Udinese?

Would think if that was a serious issue he would have not made the shortlist surley.

I think the only question I would have is like I've seen others ask would be where they're getting the funding from and how much? If thats all not an issue and we all ignore the liverpudding stuff it could well be chicken dinner. I cant see those two wrecking the club even if corruption is Coe's middle name!!

I've seen people saying Bruce Buck and Marina are having a say in the sale and that things like agreements on the details i.e spending and stadium etc are being done or atleast seriously considered but part of me after how the government have done all this feels they have the main say which could see us be in a much worse situation, Cynical part of me thinks that's what's really going on tbh.

(UK gov snatching the club and giving it to more of an ally for optics sake not caring what happens to us after all this blows over)

The limiting of our profit making ability's was an absolute red flag for me

Ricketts family sounds terrible to me

All this and yet Roman was born in the Ukraine!

P.S Looks like Russia have conceded defeat and are high tailing back to the east and probably just bedding in and reducing numbers elsewhere...

There's no escaping that we are going to be run like a business from this point onwards. All the people on the shortlist are being backed by Investment companies who will most likely expect returns for the money the invest. This truly is going to be the beginning of a new era.

"We, the group of C&P Sports, Hana Financial and other strategic investors from South Korea, were suggested to join another Consortium. We thank Mr Nick Candy for our journey and wish him the best luck for his future.""

from WAGNH

Sounds like the final 4 can all make adjustments and additions to their offers. So if they do recruit other investors, like the ones Candy had, and make the best commitments, like 500mill for player recruitment for the next 2 windows, 2billion for stadium renovation etc etc, that could win the race.

Who ever gets Chelsea won't be in it to make money, surely.... £3 Billion + over a Billion stadium rebuild... They won't be getting that back any time soon....

The worry would be that they just sit on it and use us as an asset like buying properties etc hoping one day to sell it off for even more, However if they want to make a profit and keep a top valuation then one would assume keeping the playing squads tip top magoo has to be a priority.

Otherwise some of them have the idea of a safe way to store money and have a golden goose in the portfolio evenually selling it on again to whoever for a smaller profit before they all retire to their stunning estates!
