Or luncheon. But that is rarely used in connection to any of our players, I find.

They also pronounce Cholmondeley as Chuhm-lee. Not our players. Brits. Strange people.

I heard a Brit the other day apologising for the hot weather 😂 Gotta love them!

...Maybe I'll also one day get to 14.6k without posting a load of tosh and abuse at members. 🫷 🫶

I haven't been in here that much recently. But do we have admins anymore?

We've got signed player threads still in rumours and 3 pages of chat about Jackson and Fernandez in a Reece James thread 😂

For what it's worth. If Reece James doesn't start 50%+ in the league next season, then he's the definition of a luxury player for me. Not Enzo.

That’s not what a luxury player is though. You could say he’s a liability due to his availability, but certainly not a luxury player. He single handedly dominates games whenever he plays.

Sorry which game did he single hadily dominate recently?

He's a decent player when he starts. But Enzo has had significantly more impact the past 10-15 games.

Decent player for our team and size is Gusto.. as a RB he is levels above.. that is the reason we continue to invest in him..

Talking about luncheon - I tried luncheon meat for the first ever time yesterday. Wasn't impressed. If i wait this long to try it again I will be 86.

Reece James being described simply as decent is blasphemy. RJ put on a master class versus PSG and stopped any attacks through the middle with Caicedo while Fernandez did next to nothing.

Benfica is another one.

Single Handedly was probably a poor use of language as players like Caicedo always turn up too but you can put your money on RJ dominating his opponent more than Enzo.

Enzo has been our biggest goal threat for months.

RJ played well alongside the better player in Caicedo. In a position where many have commented how he's not been doing great.

I'm not here to bash James, he's a world class right back. And he's a decent centre mid. But Enzo has been superb for months. And he's been available.

Player playing in a position with minimal defensive duties and expected to only crash the box is our goal threat, imagine my shock.

6 goals in the PL this season and everyone has lost their minds and think he's the next coming of Lampard, pull yourself together man.

Some might be saying that, not me. Just think we shouldn't be slagging off one of our players who has been playing well. Definitely don't think we should be concerned with his defensive output when the system Maresca sets out has 8 players playing defensively 😂

Who's slagging him off? I'm just pointing out what i see. I just think he's a luxury player and if you're covering for a luxury they should be to the quality of Hazard.

You? 👀

I can't think of or remember reading about any Chelsea supporter who ever slagged off Reece James. Worries about how he would come back after all that injury trouble does not equal slagging off.

Unless I was mistaken, UK was talking about Enzo in his post? If not, my bad! I may have misunderstood

i was, and nothing that i said was slagging him off.

You are quite consistent that you think he's awful defensively, average going forward, and we should be happy to see him leave.

I think that's slagging him off. Considering he's a starting player.

What about any of that is untrue ?

He's a starting player because the owners spent a truck load of money on him and are desperate to prove they didn't waste it so they don't make a loss on him, and hence mandate to the manager that he has to start in the hope that he eventually looks like he was worth the investment. He's hardly getting picked on merit when he's a proven liability in the pivot, and contributes a fraction of the output at #10 (the only other position we could play him in) that we see from many other players, and most probably is why we are interested in the likes of Rogers and Simons to play at #10 instead

I can't fathom why Madrid might think he's worth £130m. If it happens then fantastic business and he becomes Madrid's problem to work out what his best position is. Best solution for us in my mind, and I hope his agent makes it happen !

Neither UB or I are "slagging him off" though. There are no insults being hurled his way, and to compare what is being said about Enzo to the poisonous bilge that is trotted out on the Jackson thread is so far wide of the mark that I almost feel like suing you for slander LOL.

Sorry Bisright ... I looked back a bit further and it wasn't you that compared the Enzo comments to what was being said in the Jackson thread. So my attempt at some humour was aimed at the wrong target !

A good reminder to me of why I shouldn't post on here when I only have a small mobile phone screen to look at ... !

Aye, not saying criticism of Enzo is similar to jackos attacks.

I'd say your criticism of Enzo is unfair, maybe the term slagging off is a bit strong.

I think he's a very good player and he's improved a lot in the past season. If he goes to Madrid I expect him to do very well there, and I expect he gets replaced by someone (Simons) who has the same "issues".

I do think he's a huge liability defensively and he doesn't have the skill set to warrant a place in a quick free flowing attack. I don't think we should be happy to see him leave, i think we'll be a better team for it though. His best asset is his long range passing which is pretty useless in the prem with how little time he gets on the ball, at Madrid he'd have the freedom to sit deeper and spray the passes without a press being on you instantly. That means he has to play the 10 and i'd much rather have a more dynamic 10 than someone that looks like they're running through custard.

I don't see how having an opinion on someones skillset is slagging someone off. Slagging off would be what you read on the Jackson thread that seems to somehow gets laughs.
