For me this is just the point. He is regarded by Leicester fans as frustratingly inconsistent. When you watch him he seems to randomly lose concentration and get caught out. Sound familiar? We shouldn't spend 60m on a left back who is essentially the British Emerson. 

More links to us again over the past few days. Not much else to do so I've been watching his matches in the Europa League this season.

Few things stand out:

1. Crossing is superb. Particularly from set pieces, he is super accurate. Good flat and fast delivery

2. Defensively he is quite aware. Porto are pretty compact without the ball which helps.

3. One thing that surprised me watching him more is that he doesnt seem the quickest. Not slow but not what I you usually expect from a Brazilian fullback.

He has to have more pace than both Alonso and Emerson though, surely?

Pep would improve him tho or at least tweak his system to accomodate his characteristics. Even if he doesn't perform, they'd just buy another upcomer

Probably not as slow as Alonso or Jorginho but he isn't quick. I noticed a few times him attempt to close quickly on someone to press and just not get there in time with the ball then played around him. 

His delivery is so good that you'd almost forgive it, but he is by now means a perfect left back solution in our way of playing.

That’s very interesting and good to know. I haven’t seen a huge number of his games but was always under the impression that he was quite pacey. Perhaps he has lost a step or two.

That is just my view. Any others who have watched a few of his games?

Apparently, he has switched agents. It may be more a matter of time... but we have seen crazier things happen and with everything going on, nothing is certain.

Telles and CHO/Pulisic on the left ... James and Ziyech on the right you mean ... ?  Quite frightening on paper ! No wonder we are thinking of keeping Giroud now ...

I've gone cold on Chilwell, so Telles would be preferable if we had the opportunity to sign him.

I’ve seen similar reports. If it’s true, the only scenario that makes sense is that he was ours to be had, but Frank and/or the board is dead set on Chilwell.

Grimaldo is a tidy player. Too short and not strong enough for the Premier League though.

Any left back we bring in ideally needs to have qualities closer to James'. Pace, strength and crossing ability. Not easy to find though.

I'm not convinced by Chilwell for the price either. He doesn't seem to have any standout qualities. 

I saw somewhere that it's official that he signed for PSG.

No I really meant that I thought I saw that it was official that he's already a PSG player.
