If I remember correctly there were complaints about the mural when it was first 'opened' as it had only white faces and some had to be repainted black or brown.

As for singing, if that was introduced in to grounds could be a big difference to those chosen by a club and the fans. Club would choose songs with no naughty words.

Blimey we'd have no songs left if no swear words, saw a report a few years back where we were top for the most songs with swear words in

Well West Ham, Arsenal and Liverpool have a very limited repertoire about three songs between them bubbles, walk on, and the monotonous Liverpewl Liverpewl or Arsenal Arsenal

Put Everton in there, with their one and only song "Everton, Everton Everton"

We'd need a few renditions of: 'f**k them all, f**k them all.' United, West Ham, Liverpool. For we are the Chelsea and we are the best. We are the Chelsea so f**k all the rest.'

Tyrone Mings confirming what we already knew.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/52866678

Aston Villa's Tyrone Mings says the players were the "last people to be consulted" over the Premier League's "financially driven" 'Project Restart'.

The Premier League is set to resume on 17 June following its shutdown because of the coronavirus outbreak.

There were no positive results in the most recent batch of tests at clubs and the UK government says sport can return behind closed doors from Monday.

Defender Mings, 27, also claimed players are "commodities in the game".

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Mings added: "The motives are possibly 100% financially driven rather than integrity driven.

"Project Restart is financially driven. I think everybody accepts that.

"I am all for playing again because we have no other choice. As players, we were the last people to be consulted about Project Restart and that is because of where we fall in football's order of priority. That isn't a problem.

"We got the option to come back to training and that's fine because we didn't have to but if the FA and the EFL and the government and Uefa and the Premier League all say you are going back to play, it really doesn't make any difference what the players think because you are going back to play. It is get in or get out."

The Premier League did not comment on Mings' statements when contacted by BBC Sport.

English football's top-flight has conducted 3,882 tests for the virus on players and staff at clubs in recent weeks, with 12 positive results.

No individual tested positive from 1,130 tests conducted on Thursday and Friday.

The return to training has been broken into phases ranging from small group sessions where social distancing was in place to contact training introduced this week.

There are also strict protocols in place regarding hygiene at training grounds in order to safeguard against the spread of the virus.

Players including Newcastle's on-loan full-back Danny Rose and Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero have raised concerns about football's return during the pandemic.

When I see these pictures every pre season, I start to get a buzz for the new season after the summer break, looking at these pictures though, I really couldn't give a toss sadly. Season just should not be starting.

I'm the same, just can't get interested in the slightest.

Me too. @chi blue As you say, there is normally a buzz about the start of the new season. Not this time.

I can imagine on the first day of the PL that the broadcasters, sponsors and bookies will be spouting crap like it's good to be back and you've missed us. Eh, no.

It will be interesting to see how games are covered. Given that press boxes in some grounds are small I assume that fewer representatives will be allowed so social distancing can be adhered to. So presumably there will be one commentator and not a pundit or pundits alongside. That will mean less crap from some of the pundits. I hate it when pundits come out with the bleeding obvious e.g. he should have scored. As I  probably won't watch many games I might not know.

In Saturday's Daily Telegraph there were a few articles about the impact on women's sport and some sports e.g. football, cricket and rugby union have had their seasons scrapped. Scrapping women's sports has confirmed what we knew that the return of sport is all about money and not the nation's morale. Over the last few years there has been a push to encourage women of all ages to take part in sport. Will that work start to unravel?

I don't think any of that has entered into the thoughts of the PL who seem to think the league is the be-all and end-all of professional sports.

You're right. This sounds callous but having some PL clubs fail may prompt the powers that be too seriously look at the way the game is run.  But then again.

Yes agree all about money, the women's game doesn't generate much, so no need to carry on. To be honest I'm not into women's football in the slightest, but it is refreshing say on a Sunday morning in town, seeing young girls in their football kits going or coming back from a game, never would of happened 20 years ago.

Not to mention they've postponed the Euros and the Olympics. Two huge international tournaments scrapped yet the PL is such a special case that a restart is imperative. Cobblers. Anyone with an ounce of common knows why this is happening and it isn't because we've missed them. They are so transparent to all but the terminally gullible.

The most interesting thing in those pics is the hair ... Ross Barkley's mangy beard leading the way ...  closely followed by Jorginho's similar effort, plus a hairstyle that looks like he came straight out of a Stray Cats gig.

If it is safe to start the season to empty stands I don't mind see us playing.

Football in these circumstances is shown it's importance. It is not important in a greater sense but for a common man the entertainment is integral part of our lives. If the entertainers feel safe to entertain us and they honestly want to do so, why not.

There is that money side of it. All our lives rotate around money so it affects everyone of us. Football creates jobs and gives livelihood to thousands of people not just the footballers. I think it is safe to say most of us choose work instead of sitting in home for months in the unknown.

If they play I am okay, if they don't I am okay. Would I love football to be back. Yes, why not.

They should just straighten up their bent backs and stop saying its to do with integrity, morality or any other bollocks and just admit its all about the money, at least then they will earn a modicum of respect back.

Re: the Olympics there are many sportsmen and women who have training programmes geared up to competing and hopefully success at that event. Only have to look at the success of the British cycling squad over the last few years. Deferring the Olympics another year disrupts the training programme and could mean that they miss out on attending the games. They may also not be able to compete due to other commitments e.g. work and family. For some, they only have once chance of competing at the Olympics.

As you and DKW say it's all about money. @dkw As you say, if they had the balls to admit that it's all about money they would recover some respect. Sadly, that won't happen as that wouldn't go down well with broadcasters etc. It's very depressing listening to the crap that we're being told. They think that we're idiots. just shows how of touch with reality they are.

Olympics, Euro's and Worlds are more of a spectator-events. Chelsea for example can live without the live crowd financially I mean. Prem is 70% done and that is why everyone wants to finish it. Who is the champ, who is promoted/relegated... Not comparable IMO.

For once having a smaller stadium than the other teams is a good thing!

I read an article a few years back where they broke down the finances of major clubs. Matchday revenue was practically nothing compared to TV deals, licencing deals, merchandise etc. So to all you SB spectators: you are not that important [emoji23][emoji16][emoji6].
