I wonder if the public's habits will of changed after lockdown, will people of realised the about of sh*t they waste their money on, clothes bought that are only worn once, gambling, spending money on lunchtime sandwiches, when they can be made, countless takeaway coffees etc, and the big one, spending vast amounts on football.

Think that depends on how this virus plays out, if it is only one year people will revert to old habits.

If on the other hand it lingers and a large number of people keep getting reinfected then some things may change to protect the younger generations, like I was I shocked how some kids are having strong caffeine drinks with their Mums early morning in certain cafes.

I recall with the 1918 flu virus it was followed by the Roaring Twenties which suggests people will forget and move on if this is a one-off.

If Womans football had tens of millions of £ gambled on every game, they'd move mountains to get them back. The government are probably losing weekly £100m in gambling firms taxes. All that money is still in punters pockets/bank accounts, the government/bookies want it.

Nah mate, its all about sporting integrity, morals erm....some other guff about cleaners needing paying or something.

They should all just come out and tell the truth, just say they are only interested in getting the premier league going as it makes loads of money, they dont care about any other league or the teams.

Think we all look forward to somethings returning, going out for a Saturday evening beer or meal, a fry up on match day and pre match beer, but rush hour, companies squeezing all they can out of you, chaotic town centres etc, and rude ignorant people rushing everywhere. This virus has bought some real dreadful sorrow and hardship, but trying to look on a positive, it has bought a quieter pace of life, which we all need at times

On the contrary, the Bank of England has said that it may take the cost of borrowing below zero, the message is clear, borrow more and spend more, other countries are going down this road, like Japan for instance. Quantitative easing eventually leads to inflation which causes the interest rates to rise, causing the exact opposite of financial stability.

Sounds scary. Consuming sh*te just gives you that small buzz. Gives you content and meaning to your meaningless walk on this planet. I just watched outside and I see trees, a small forest in fact. The planet is fine...just heard a bird chirp. We are all good. Anyways off to collect my Zalando sh*t in a bit. Maybe a coffee to go.. Tadaa.

Looking back on earlier times,, my aunt got Chrohns disease and my uncle was diagnosed with high blood pressure after showing-off at the pool on holiday and mixing up the shallow and deep end leaving a nasty cut. Their lives changed in their 50s.

Lots of older people after digestive surgery often slow down.

In contrast look at the youngsters flooding to parks and beauty spots I don't think they have any intention to slow down.

Football seems to be a good indicator, I read that Dyche and Pearson were talking about some players and staff still having the virus even now.

Am posting this here as there is a bit in the newsletter about the Chelsea Supporters Trust issuing a survey to seek views on 'Project Restart'.  Supporters Groups from other PL clubs will also be consulted.

Consulted and totally ignored I'm afraid.

You're right. If every fan consulted replied that the season shouldn't re-start they would be ignored. Wouldn't surprise me if the authorities said that the fans responses aren't representative.

Premier League clubs have unanimously agreed to resume contact training as plans to restart the season move to the next phase.

Players will be able to "train as a group and engage in tackling while minimising unnecessary close contact".

Discussions are ongoing as work continues towards resuming the season, when conditions allow and it is safe.

Players and staff will continue to be tested twice a week for coronavirus during stage two of Project Restart.

So far eight people have tested positive after 1,744 tests across the Premier League. The third round of results is expected to be released on Wednesday.

The decision to return to contact training was agreed following consultation with clubs, players, managers, the Professional Football Association (PFA) and the League Managers Association (LMA).

Speaking on Friday, Premier League chief executive Richard Masters told BBC Sport the league was "as confident as we can be" about resuming the season in June, with 92 fixtures still to play.

Squads started non-contact training last week for the first time since the Premier League was suspended on 13 March because of the pandemic.

Anyone else feeling a bit nervous about the restart?  My thoughts are, with not many games remaining, that the teams in 3rd / 5th / 6th place will want to be fast out of the blocks, and start racking up the points. I hope our lot don't fall asleep and get left behind, especially with Spurs and Utd at full strength now.  It will certainly be a dog fight for 3rd and 4th place.

Yep felt just before the stoppage we were starting to find some form yet that does not mean we will start that way.

however what is sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander,

You could find teams in form drop off and vice versa, I found it interesting in the german league  that there are far more away wins after the return than there were before. now of course this could be a coincidence that the strong teams just all happened to start away to weaker (i didnt see which matches there were just the stat) but while its clear we could be off the pace others will be in the same situation

Unbelievable what some people have said about Deeney's son. Some people are sick and twisted.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/52831522

Watford captain Troy Deeney says people told him they wished his baby son would contract coronavirus after he chose not to return to training.

Deeney did not want to put his child, who has had breathing difficulties, "in more danger" and raised concerns over the increased risk to black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) players.

He is due to resume training next week.

"I saw some comments in regards to my son, people saying: 'I hope your son gets corona'," Deeney, 31, said.

He told CNN Sport: "That's the hard part for me. If you respond to that, people then go: 'Ah, we've got him' and they keep doing it.

"In a time where it's all about mental health and everyone says 'speak up, speak out, please speak', Danny Rose spoke out and I spoke out and we just get absolutely hammered and battered for it.

"So people see that and go 'woah' and it's not just us that gets it, the missus gets direct messages and you'll be walking down the street and people will be like: 'Oh, I'm at work, you go back to work'."

On Wednesday, Premier League clubs unanimously voted to resume contact training but Watford are not expected to resume group training until next week.

Deeney has spoken with England's deputy chief medical officer, Professor Jonathan Van-Tam, and is expected to return to club training next week.

"He's been doing very, very good research and there is a lot of goodwill on his part to tell me, ultimately, that I'm going to be looked after as best as they can and, ultimately, there is going to be some form of risk for all of us going back to work," Deeney said.

"Lockdown and the social distancing measures coming down mean people will still always have risk."

We're back at full strength as well though. I rewatched the Everton highlights and I echo your sentiment on being fast out of the blocks hopefully we can play like that straight away. Presume he will start with Jorginho and Kovacic and who knows at AM. Shame for Gilmour as it would have been nice to see him get a run of games but maybe this way is better for him pressure wise.

Apart from Hertha Berlin all the German sides form and performances didn't hugely differ from what it was before the break so I'm hopeful the momentum picked up against the Merseyside clubs carry's over to the restart.

And Jorginho still has one more game of his ban to serve so Gilmour will start the first game back which I'm guessing is Villa away.

So the Premier League is to restart on 17 June. A bad move in my view. Far too soon if it has to be restarted and we all know it's down to money and nothing to do with the morale of the nation.

Would be better to scrap the season but that won't happen in a month of sundays.

Its terrific news that the season is resuming but I can't help feel some of the players will feel very uncomfortable about walking back out onto the pitch.

There is every chance they will not be able to get their hairstyles back in shape.

Cancelled all my subscriptions now, they were on pause, but now they're not cancelling the season, so i cancelled it all and will save hundreds of £ by the time the fans come back. f**k the sport until then.
