Think he wants something ridiculous like 400k a week. No one is worth that, not even Alaba.

Really? Until this proves to be true, I will always vote on the club getting Alaba.

He'll definitely go to the Premier League or PSG, I don't think even Premier League clubs or PSG with give him those wages though. I really don't want him going to City or Liverpool, especially Liverpool. Him and Van Dijk together would be a ridiculous partnership.

Isn't this the guy who reported that Sancho to Man Utd was a done deal?

In addition, I can't help but be dismissive when a transfer rumour is fuelled purely by the player's agent...

You do remember Pini is the guy who got Roman to buy Chelsea Football club not to mention brought Drogba and Cech to the club as well, right?

Where does he fit in the squad if we bring him in though? He is going to want a lot of game time. Chilwell was just brought in for a lot of dough and has exceeded expectations imo. Don’t see him loosing his spot. Zouma is much improved and has the best aerial win percentage out of the big leagues. Makes some mistakes but has been a big part of the defensive rejuvenation. Silva and Alaba pairing worries me a bit on height especially in the prem where a lot of balls get whipped in. Amazing player obviously but does he fit the current squad?

Maybe it works if we move Rudiger and Christensen on in Jan but that seems unlikely.

He covers 3 positions where the drop in quality from our first-teamer to backup is huge, take Thiago Silva, Ben Chilwell & Kante out of our team and the drop in quality is significant. If we were to be fortunate enough to sign him then he will get plenty of minutes considering Thiago will be 37 & Kante will be 30 and modern full backs naturally need to be rotated due to the physical demands per match so therefore Ben can also be rotated.

I personally would love to see Alaba in the CDM role which would allow Kante to press higher up the pitch and at the same time Alaba has the experience to drop into the CB area when required and would give our full backs the license to roam further forward. If Alaba was to sign it would most likely see the end of Jorginho's time with us.

That is something I don't want to see again. If Kante is playing further forward, it would mean he would be much more involved in our attacking game, and we have seen for the past two seasons that it just doesn't suit Kante. The way Kante is playing now is the best he has played since Conte was here and one of the main reasons why is because he is playing deeper. Kante is much better as a support player to the attackers rather than being one of the players expected to constantly link up with the forwards and create and score goals. Kante's best qualities come from his defensive duties, if we take that off him, he isn't even half the player and we as a team end up weaker defensively too. I also think Kante offers more as CDM than Alaba would.
