Chance to open up a nice lead so long as your games go ahead and your side remains clear of covid cases, then you could afford to rest key players ahead of CL games.

Plus you can use your reserves in the CL last 16 with the tie you got. Only chance league is not in the bag for you by end of February are either a shut down of the league or Liverpool hold on to you, rest of us will be falling behind most weeks.

Hope you're right but I wouldn't be so quick to write you lot off yet, If your strikers get fit again, There's nothing stopping you lot going on a 10 game winning streak. Liverpool will be affected by the AFCON assuming it goes ahead. I thought you lot should have been 2/3-0 up in the first half against Everton, James normally buries his chance and same goes for Mount's chance. You were the more likely side yesterday despite the covid situation, As a City fan I don't sit there thinking 'Ah yes, Chelsea are no longer in our rear view mirror', I still view you as a threat. Lets just say when you lot play Villa on boxing day, I'll still be paying attention to the result hoping for a Villa win/Draw. I understand as a fan of your club you think it's all doom and gloom.

Unforutnately for us, a 10-game winning streak means little when we are competing against two teams who regularly manage 14+ - Liverpool and City have managed these over each of the last four seasons.

At the start of the season I said that if we want to win the title we need to win at least 14 games in a row.  The next stretch of games will involve the reverse of fixtures we dominated and a chance for revenge against City and Liverpool. Given that City and Liverpool are both included in the next run, 12-14 wins in a row from this point in will all but guarantee Chelsea the title. It's up to the team to make it happen.

I wonder how sides like Arsenal and City are so lucky at the mo to not have many, if any covid cases? Is it luck? Or is it their players are just going from training to home only.

Somehow Barca have money again and have agree to sign Ferran Torres from City for 55mill.

thoughts on rhat @Kinkladze1871 ?

Can we get them to buy Ziyech then please?

Disappointed to see him go however we are spoilt for choice and it's a good price. Hopefully we use this money towards a deal for Kane in January as his market value has dipped and there's no way Pep goes for Haaland given who his agent is and his absurd wage demands, £80 mill for Kane in January is possible.

Wolves vs Watford and Liverpool vs Leeds off due to both visiting sides not having the required numbers to field a team due to covid cases.

I reckon TT will be especially impressed at the first of those two games being called off after our request at Wolves was turned down.

Hmm Everton apparently have 9 fit outfield players, 3 keepers and the youth team yet their game team going ahead so far. Another wierd call by the league.

The league have change their minds, Burnely vs Everton 3rd game postponed.

No way are we catching City. They look like champions.

To be fair that's what people said about us a month ago. Injuries and several other factors can change the course of a team's season. I think it's still early days IMO.

We were always going to be 3rd best in the league unless Liverpool and City stumbled and it looks like that's not going to happen.  My fear now is that if this inconsistency continues we'll be fighting for 4th place again this season fighting off Arsenal, Spurs and Utd...look at the stupid points we dropped so far all against sh*te teams because we still can't f**king score goals.

This period with some covid hit teams playing and others not is making the PL a bit of a joke.  Not sure what else could be done because the calendar is so full throughout the season but it feels like some sides are getting the rub of the green through timely postponements and others not. Only a few days ago Klopp was complaining that Liverpool were due to play twice in 48 hours, now of course they're not.

To be fair if more teams only played 2-3 of their first-choice outfielders against us (including zero of their first-choice defenders) we'd look good too!

Might also help if we weren't so injury-stricken/disease-riddled ourselves that we had to keep playing people who are half fit/obviously not good enough/hilariously out of position. Remember Saúl up front against Everton?

Thats honestly how I feel atm and Im beginning to care less and less about the season. Some teams had an advantage over others whether people want to agree or not and unfortunately its too late now.
