May 21, 20233 yr He'll be a frustrating signing. Worried if this is the best our elite recruitment team has to offer. Bloke can hardly hold onto the ball in Serie A.

Troubling to say the least, 14 year old Fifa players scouting list territory, god, when will we be a serious club. Meanwhile, Alvarez is putting us to the sword, for which City forked out a mere £14mill for. 🤦♂️

He will be put under huge pressure and flop imo. 3 hours ago, Term_X said: Troubling to say the least, 14 year old Fifa players scouting list territory, god, when will we be a serious club. Players like Santos, Paez and Casadei may yet prove to us what Alverez does to City, but 80mill odd injury prone flops wont. However I would take a punt on him if, and only if, Juve take Lukaku as a straight swap. Edited May 22, 20233 yr by axman2526

We need them to be under 34 so we can spend the next four seasons excusing their continual poor performances saying ‘they’re young and need a decent run of 45 matches before we write them off’.
May 22, 20233 yr For the price being quoted no chance. But I do think if we surround him in some quality players like City have with Haaland, he will bag some goals for us. People do seem to forget that at Fiorentina he was scoring goals for fun almost, judging him based on a terrible juve team with allegri as a manager is hardly the fairest way to go about it. I think maybe 30m + a player in some swap deal would be ideal and worth taking a punt, but 80m no thanks
May 22, 20233 yr If we ever buy a striker with big money I want them to go through rigorous psychological tests to determine whether they have a weak or strong mentality. The scale is Drogba/Costa mentality sandwiched between Anelka-mentality all the way down to Morata/Lukaku mentality. Anything below Anelka you need to forget.

May 22, 20233 yr We do need a striker this is a funny [depressing?] list . . .best strikers in the world - from Nov 2022 https://www.90min.com/posts/the-25-best-strikers-in-world-football-ranked We should sign all the ones that we have not already signed. . .
May 22, 20233 yr Just been watching another 15 minutes of this bloke and same old story. We will end up signing him at some stage. Absolute turd in a walking league. oh yeah, we'll be all over that.
May 24, 20233 yr DV from Juve and to clinch the deal we could offer defender Kalidou Koulibaly as part of the exchange. Do swaps ever really work? We have heard that Todd is very keen on swap deals. But they seldom happen and they are somewhat ridiculous. But cash and K2 for DV apparently. I can see why K2 would want to return to Italia. He is a solid stopper, but he doesn't have the fitness or the stamina for the English league. He is not a player who likes to play the ball out from the back. He is simply not a good fit. He is a solid stopper though and good for a man marking job. DV? How blah is Vlah? 80 million? Are you having a laugh?

He is a good on the turn too. Looks to have potential and some of those Balkan players have been very successful in the EPL. Wonder if Pochettino is interested.............

Exactly, the potential is there for him but only in specific circumstances. Is he going to be a drogba or costa who can sort of bully and create a goal on their own? I dont see it. But can he be like haaland where all he'll need to do is essentially sit in the box and wait for the rest of the team to create for him? I see that, and I can see him scoring quite a few. His overall play will never be overly good like we see in the best strikers but if he does enough of a job being a threat in the box and getting goals then its all good for me. But like I said, depends heavily on the price.

How much have you seen of Haaland, I have recently seen him miss chance out of chance yet others score and often he gets a later goal (often tap-in) though not the crucial first.

His finishing isn't an issue for me. Vlahovic's hold up play is rather poor and how he works in tight areas is questionable.
