July 29, 20223 yr Author So did we learn anything new from our players in this one? Not much from those who were with us last season imo. Mount drives our attack on, Havertz continues to look like a poor man's Bebatov and our build up remains too slow. The new guys I though Koulibaly looked a more physical, more experienced but less energetic version of Toni, which is understandable give the injuries he has dealt with over recent years. He still has a great burst over short distance though. Sterling is very much like Werner, better touch and control but same useless finishing.

The only possible front line for Everton next week So long as Mount player is all we can ask for. Broja won't and the rest are poor finishers.

July 30, 20223 yr I went out last night so I have had to watch the extended highlights. I can say that the three goals were well taken and what we need this season. If there’s no clear option, shoot from outside (Kante’s goal), good pass between the lines to get Sterling on a one on one, and a cross from the winger to find players attacking the box. Now, I realise that they won’t get sim much space in the PL, but it was good to see us actually not faffing around. Other things I saw, I thought that the linkup play between the three attackers was quite good, and played well between the lines in the box. Koulibaly showed good quality. Sterling missed good chances, but he’ll score as soon as he gets going. I was quite negative on the previous matches, but from the highlights I can only see many positives from this one.

But this kinda what we can expect from next season. We will be better next season due to sterling. You can see Tuchel no longer has to choose between run behind vs ball skill. In term of his finishing, he is not a great finisher, anyone who has watched city play rather than read sterling stats with city know this but like timo he is very good at getting chances so he should be fine. You can see he kept dropping deep and drive the ball forward, something that I said was missing in our games at times when kova didn't play.
