July 28, 2025Jul 28 Footballing-wise, I'm really not a fan of Felix's game. He's just not competitive enough for me. He's still young and can, potentially, still learn a thing or two, but I'm not crazy about having him in the roster. He's way too different from Cole to work as his backup.Oh well, let's see.

I’d imagine the sell on clause is there only if he leaves before achieving those bonuses.Does they also take into account the wages we've paid him ??

Transfer and loan fees aside what about the wages. Often we are still partially paying these guys.I just read Fulham want Sterling on loan next season and want to pay us a £5m loan fee. Ok but if we’re still paying half his wages which they want then they ain’t really paying us a loan fee are they. The better deal was Arsenal covering his Salary.Clearlake have decided to go large young squad on less wages, Liverpool have gone for a thinner elite squad on top wages. Let’s see which one is most successful. Trophies not PSR. Trophies.

This is where the bloated squad becomes a real issue.

They don't have access to clubs' books. A mixture of rumour and harvested media reports.

July 29, 2025Jul 29 Do we bother to move his thread away from anything Chelsea related or do we keep it here until we are landed with him again?
July 29, 2025Jul 29 No mention of the fee, but officially confirmed by the club.Joao Felix completes Al-Nassr move

July 29, 2025Jul 29 I'll never understand the hate he got from some of the fans, he wasn't always consistent but he was a fun player to watch. In an era where players are taught to be so rigid that they're a slave to their manager's system it's nice to see sometimes. Good luck to him and I look forward to his return in 2027.

He was signed by us for an initial £42 million with circa £4.3 m in add ons. I would doubt any of his add ons were triggered but let’s assume another £1 million at most so let’s say he cost £43 million. So around £16.9 million down. However thankfully we received £5 million loan fee so ignoring amortisation ( yep the magical word) that’s £11.9 lossIf you’re interested in amortisation then £43 m/5 years =£8.6/year but he has only been a Chelsea player for 11 months so around £8 million. So £3.9 accounting loss.So it’s all about the add ons. They are said to total £17.6 million. We haven’t got a clue what they are if we get close to £11.9 extra that will be incredible. I suspect that the hope is a significant chunk of those add ons will come before the end of our current accounting year. The Saudi Pro league ends on 21 May 26. Forty days before the account year ends on Of course he shouldn’t have been signed in the first place and that goes without saying but to

October 8, 2025Oct 8 I'm going to say something controversial. We shouldn't have sold him. This guy has played in systems where the manager wants them to be part of a machine rather than a coach that lets him play with freedom. Atletico Madrid, Chelsea (both times), AC Milan, all these teams are managed by a coach that wants their players to play like robots. With Palmer injured, we wouldn't need a backup like Buonanotte, who is massively inferior to Felix in every way and we wouldn't have needed to sign one of Gittens or Garnacho.

He'd beat a player or do something fancy, only for his final ball/execution (the thing that actually matters) to be incredibly bad. It's followed him his entire career. Even at Saudi there are clips of him dribbling past players and it conveniently ends right before he does a sh*t pass. I still remember under Potter in the Champions League tie against Real Madrid. He was away on goal by himself and instead of taking a touch inside which would've put him in front of the CB, he took a touch out wide away from goal where the CB eventually caught up. I remember during halftime Henry highlighted that moment and was grilling Felix. Saying any top player wouldn't do that.
