January 15, 20251 yr "I mean if we are going to persist with starting well then fading away I'd rather start Enzo+Caicedo then sub Lavia on in the 2nd half to help close the game out. " After yesterday not sure Lavia's ready to close out a game, hard to see the Enzo complaints, when Lavia pissed the ball away to lead to the PK simply not willing to use his left foot at all.

Well the result is deceiving in that regard, it's not like we were very good at the midfield and we suffered a lot for many moments through the entire game, and i didn't particularly like having to see Palmer going so deep to get the ball.

Nah the result has nothing to do with it. One lightweight midfielder replaced another.
January 23, 20251 yr Media outlets reporting Real Madrid are interested and want to offer Tchouameni in exchange. Wonder if any truth to that, and also adds fuel to his absence.

Wonder if any truth to that, and also adds fuel to his absence. Yes, yes, a million times yes. With Kroos remaining top of his game until the last hurrah and Federico Valverde morphing into a world-class player, Tchouameni hasn't quite had the space to grow. This season he's deputised a lot at CB and has reportedly been playing through niggling ankle injuries (never a good sign). A class player who would look outstanding next Caicedo and tactically, fill a hole that we've really been trying to fill since Nemanja Matic.
January 23, 20251 yr It's an opportunistic potential transfer again, but this one I could really get behind, as we've been crying out for a tall, physical, athletic, technical DM for years ! Let's hope Fernandez's head is well and truly turned, leaving Eghbali no choice but to sell 🙂 << EDIT : Transfermarkt's Market Valuation for Tchouameni is €80m vs €75m for Enzo, so we'd come out ahead in the swap LOL >> Edited January 23, 20251 yr by Sexyfootball
January 23, 20251 yr Can see it now - Chelsea and Real Madrid in sensational exchange deal with Fernandez and Tchounameni. Chelsea loan Tchounameni to Strasbourg. In all seriousness, Tchouanmeni's wages might be a problem. Would love to see him next to Caicedo though.

Enzo would likely thrive in La Liga, and Tchouanmeni has the physical presence for the Premier League.

Enzo is on £180K, so not much to bridge .. I'd say not a problem if there is the will to do the swap. Whether Tchouameni would agree to the move is another matter though I guess. We do have a big French contingent, so that might appeal
January 23, 20251 yr This rumour has been about before, I don't think there is anything to it. Would be very happy to be wrong about this one though.
January 24, 20251 yr Enzo is a great technical player and a leader so we would lose a lot if we sell him, just need to find his best role.

We'd loose the headache of keeping him at the club. We'd lose his fabulous ability to embroil himself in off field crap We'd probably gain a better player in return and lok a better team on the pitch as a result. If Real want him, make it happen yesterday.

January 24, 20251 yr We could finally redeem the lassitude of the upper footballing world when they allowed Camavinga and Tchouaméni to sign for Real Madrid in consecutive summers. An even better redemption would be binning off Fernández in favour of a French player of African descent. Both sides win here, Fernández will almost certainly be brilliant for Real. The only concern is, as Sydney says, Tchouaméni's injury record. Don't suppose they fancy swapping Félix for Camavinga while they're at it?

I hope they buy him for his quality, I hope they buy him for his elite passing, vision and goals. I hope he goes on to have a bloody brilliant career. but it hasnt worked out for him in the premier league. I hope we dont buy Garnacho to try and help him settle either. It was the same for Crespo and Veron - just couldnt settle or adapt to the country or league.

We did it with Felipe Luis for Costa a few years back, but it was worth it as Costa was actually a difference maker in the same way that Fernandez unfortunately isn't ...

Pointless bringing in another player who cant cut it in the premiership. Two wrongs dont make a right. It is what it is, Im sure the directors who signed Enzo also want him to work. I wish it did as it could be the end of the current manager in the summer. Enzo Snr hasnt been able to get anything extra out of Jnr like the Poch/Potter axis.

Enzo not only settled he put his feet on the table and is having the remote control, haven't you noticed that he's doing whatever he wants? Hasn't work in the Premier League LOL he came in and ran the whole midfield solo from his first match under Potter while the team was dead, do you really believe that he's having a bad season or something? 🤣

LOL

I've never seen someone consistently be sold on purple patches of form so often.
