January 5, 20251 yr Been a big let down for 100M not sure what we got .. doesn’t score enough , doesn’t assist enough .. can’t tackle - passing is good but can’t turn in a press.. Argentine Will Hughes!

Currently this season also:

So if Enzo passes 5 yards and Palmer splits the defence with a 30 yard pass, Fernandez also gets a GCA. That should tell you how "useful" that stat is.

You gotta love them!! Scoring 3 and assisting 4 and being involved in our goals in other ways as well is useless now? I remember people were actually complaining about the lack of end end product of Kante when he had more responsibilities in the final third, well Enzo is on his way to have an even better season than that.
January 15, 20251 yr I'd rather have Jorginho back. Fernandez appears like he is the Kai Havertz of midfielders, the occasional purple patch then a passenger for large periods.

Enzo is actually a perfect upgrade on Jorginho but he didn't want to play that role. Poch spoiled him and allowed him to change, Sarri would have kept him at the base of the midfield and Caicedo and Lavia would work perfectly around him. Proof that sometimes ego ruins what could have been a stable system from the get-go.

January 15, 20251 yr Enzo is a problem. Very expernsive and hard to drop for that reason. But, he's just not built physically for this league.
January 15, 20251 yr Author I mean if we are going to persist with starting well then fading away I'd rather start Enzo+Caicedo then sub Lavia on in the 2nd half to help close the game out.

Sorry did I miss something, where and when did Enzo say he didn't want to play a role he's been playing his whole career?

You missed watching us when Enzo debuted that winter? He took the number 5 and was playing solo making all the passes in that dead team and he was doing great in that role. Only after the first season there were reports of his dad telling him to play more forward and Poch suddenly gives him the number 8 and then you could see him going forward to receive a pass for the first time, he didn't start that way at all.
