Enzo Fernandez - not wanted in England, the Falklands or probably Argentina now

He needs to be played at another club.

Let them try and figure out what he is.

Reality is we paid £107m for a guy whose Whoscored average rating at the 2022 World Cup was 59th out of all the players at the tournament.

It is time to find a better midfield partner for Caicedo.

This can't be right, i was told he was the best young Argentinian player of all time? Apparently young player of the tournament and therefore the best player in the world? Did @Gol15 mislead us?

Agree everyone should do better before this.

Now what is Enzo job here?

What's Enzo's job?  Apparently to some fans he must do everything.  He presses, then recovers to the box to win the ball, then starts the counter, joins the counter, sees Noni, press the goal keeper all by himself in a very undisciplined way, so he has to sprint all the way back to defend the left back, forces a pass, then wins the ball again, hits it down the line, which Noni bounces it out for a throw, then Noni doesn't defend at all.  You can see Cole point to Jackson, to defend the man in the middle, Jackson is late... but all of these fans want to blame Enzo, when for the prior 2 minutes, he did almost everything.  And others can't win a single ball.

This is why we need a new winger, this is why later noni and acheampong were subbed off. Neto and Sancho don't go to goal near enough, and that's the only thing Noni does.

A whole lot of screenshots showing nothing

I think @Wearyourblue is trying to show that Enzo run around to cover for Madueke, so enzo is tired. So we need winger who is better at defending so our midfielder doesn't have to cover big ground.

Is this fair assessment ? Absolutely. Now what do you want? Manager dream is to have 11 player running and defending but we all know that is not reality.

Enzo doesn't run, he can barely get faster than a jog.

I think it's pretty clear that he was saying your assessment of Enzo there was relatively basic and ignored a lot of things that caused that to happen. So to sum up, it wasn't Enzo's fault.

If you already knew this, and acknowledge Noni was the main culprit, it's a bit odd you would try to frame it was Enzo's mistake. Unless of course I have misunderstood the point of your screenshots.

The throw is a new phase of play. Enzo running covering for Madueke is a phase before this.

This morning I woke up asking myself if Fernandez was better than Italian midfield maestro and Champions League winner - Sam Dalla Bona.

no

You've posted Fernandez data twice

Al Nassr, and probably other Saudi clubs, want some big money PL signings.

Oh Todd, make the call, Enzo can look truly world class in that league.

£200m at least for the best young player at the 2022 World Cup is an absolute bargain. Come on Todd get it done lad. You can bale out your hapless Directors of Football in one fell swoop !

Aye, less of the Meatloaf performances, more getting on the blower to Saudi please.

Seems to be getting more physical as he adjusts to the league, defensively I thought he was very good last night. Saw him winning balls in the air he had no right to against bigger lads.

Still an issue going forward though but that’s not really his game just manager misuse so can’t blame him for that.

With Santos coming in next season and wanting serious game time real questions are going to start being asked of Fernandez, especially if he blocks his game time.

If Lavia can stay fit too he could end up 4th choice. £105m...

Santos won't play for us. He'll be sold and the next one loaned out to Strasbourg

I’m not too concerned with Fernandez. Good on the ball. Can pass. Can score. Can fight.

Overpaid - but still comfortably our 2nd best midfielder.

Only thing he can't do unfortunately.

I have seen him, in person, play for Argentina, where he scored a cracking effort against Mexico at the World Cup.

He can do it. We need to get him into the positions to be able to.

Under Maresca, the tactic is invariably get it to Palmer.

Santos will have clubs after him in the summer. a tempting 40 million bid would have see him never play for us.

This is way off the mark. Maresca gives Fernandez licence to go forward wherever he likes, and he is always crashing the box, usually to screw a shot past the post from a good position. Hilarious that you are trying to defend his finishing given the stance you take on Jackson. Have some consistency ffs 😂

I have been very consistent. Enzo is a good footballer. Jackson is not. I have been saying this for a long time. Very consistent.

Jackson is playing as a striker. He has an obligation to finish well, consistently. He doesnt. He is not very consistent.

Fernandez can finish. I have seen it for myself. FOr the first one, I was in the stadium.
