March 19, 20233 yr Think this is a bigger blow that we thought it was yesterday. Sure league wise it makes little difference but in momentum it makes a huge difference. Disappointing from all involved, and unacceptably bad.

Disappointing from all involved, and unacceptably bad. Very big blow because you, and probably everyone else here, thought maybe Potr had learnt his lesson... That being if something is working just leave it alone. Unfortunately he's one of those who feels he needs to "manage" ... beef up the midfield with a bit more Gallagher defense ... give Chaloba and Chukwu for a few minutes to keep them happy ffs! If Potr had just left things alone we'd have probably won that game.
March 19, 20233 yr It was the same 'game management' as the one against Leeds. We were completely on top, but somehow Potter decided to protect the lead going into the last 20-25 minutes, and Leeds would have got a goal if they were a bit clinical. Individuals let him down this game, but it does reveal the mentality of the manager. This is not Brighton 2021, you have more expensive bench players than what Everton had on the field, need to think about beating them instead of protecting the little you got.
March 20, 20233 yr Potter has clearly become our new "Tinkerman" He had no need at all to mess around with the starting line up, although I can accept James for Loftus Cheek, but I cannot fathom Sick Note for Mudryk 🥵🥵 But his use of substitutions and the timing of them just proves, once again, that Potter is NOT and never will be an Elite Manager. Not one person on here, at the Bridge or on the Planet, would have made those changes. I would like him to explain, what his reasoning was behind the changes and then to admit he fu**ed it up big time !!

I guess my question is: Are we creating chances because of the system/tactics/instructions, or are we creating chances because we have 100's of millions of pounds worth of talent on the pitch?

Having watched Brighton over the last ten years (very much! my second team) , I will say again 'We're On The Road To Nowhere' with Potter. Look at March for Brighton who has 18 goals on 242 appearances. 7 of these since De Zerbi took over. The turgid football we play only fools European teams and that's only because of our previous reputation. No Chelsea coach has been able to stop Kepa making errors. Potter is in good company

What the elite clubs do is employ elite personnel to drill structure and systems into their teams to limit the number of times these happen and to ensure that they have benefitted from the opposition committing more errors than they do. Unfortunately we employ a guy who seems to have chance of discovery rocking horse sh*t than creating a free scoring team allied to a shockingly poor level of game management It's hard not to disagree with most of your comment mate. Potter is here till the season end. There's loads wrong at the moment and what seems like a spending spree without any thought into how it benefits the team . I dunno mate, it's been a dreadful season, the only joy I've had is the January transfers, which doesn't seem to have brought much improvement for the enormous outlay. Watching Brighton, they are not exactly tearing around the pitch but it is a measured build up , finding men in space with options and constant shifting and movement of players, passing forward..we are too static , playing to standing still players with the opposition on top of them. f**king hell , how come we can't play the same style of football? Anyway thanks for your reply mate, take care

Throw in a farewell to Christensen and Rüdiger and if this were a match you'd get booked for time-wasting 👍 Edited March 21, 20233 yr by Valerie

March 26, 20233 yr With James likely out of this game I would ditch the wingbacks and go to a back 4 Kepa Chalobah Fofana Badiashile Cucurella Kante Enzo Madueke Felix Mudryk Havertz
