We will continue to be linked to players because of the way we have acted with transfer fees in the recent past. But the reality is that the club to club fee is inconsequential in the main. The players are here for their futures and their families. Its the players salaries that will often matter, even before the clubs start fckign about. If Man Utd are offering a 4 year deal to a player on 250k pw and we are offering a 7 + 1 on 100k pw with the opportunity to earn more, guess where the players are going.

If Gyokeres performs well at Arsenal the rest of us could be in trouble. In fact I'd go as far to say in around 12 months time this guy could be walking around with a charity shield winners medal around his neck.

I'll be interested to see how he copes with the step up. From too good for the Championship to scoring for fun in a league not renowned for quality across the board. Hell of a journey. We'll see.

I haven’t seen loads of him but one thing I read is he’s similar to haaland in the way he plays and most of his goals come in transition and he’s not the best with the ball at his feet and pretty poor in the air for a big man. It will be interesting to see if he’s able to do well against deep defences where he doesn’t tend to play on the shoulder as much.
