Probably because the player is in his peak and wants to go to a club that can realistically challenge for the league/champions league.

I'm not convinced. . Make him play week in week out against a far higher quality of defending and i fear he will flop. Can easily see him being the next Jackson. I'd rather we looked elsewhere.

The “next Jackson” would never get 70 goals for club & country in the past 15 months nor be the Champions League top scorer for as long as his club was in the competition. People like to mention Nunez but Gyorkeres literally dwarfs Nunez’s numbers.

He’ll honestly be the difference in Arsenal winning the league next season.

    I'm just wary about a player who was decent but not stunning in the lower leagues of England and is now banging them in a weak Portuguese league and will command a massive transfer. If we had good squad options and his fee wasn't inflated I'd be less concerned but whoever we buy needs to deliver as the alternatives are sh*te. It's a big transfer fee gamble and f**k me have we blown some crazy money these past few years.

    He was also banging them in CL too so not sure the league concern has much weight, especially given our history with players from Portugal.

    Also I couldn't think of a Swedish Chelsea player other than Magnus Hedman, who never made an appearance for us. How can that be?

    We should have signed Zlatan all those years ago like @loz wanted.

    It will be interesting to see how he does in the PL. He looks the real deal. I think he would complete Arsenal. Strangely, the one thing he needs to work on in his game is his heading ability. For such a big guy, he rarely scores headed goals and you think that is something he could work on. Haaland before he joined City was not great in the air too, however since moving to City, has improved this part of his game massively. I think if Arsenal want him, that will be his first choice tbh. No shame in admitting that.
