Something fans seem to be neglecting is the usual board briefing around this time of the year. They have said the aim for this season is Top 4, and they are happy with the current state of the squad. Even if hypothetically you wanted to bring in Emegha, UEFA squad rules as per our sanctions means someone would have leave. Unless you can move Guiu back to Sunderland on loan, that would mean selling a Tyrique George.

Mate, he’s 19 and this is his first season at top flight. Is he the CF that we need? No. But neither are the other options we’ve got. At this time and under the present circumstances, I’m happy with having Guiu start a few games and have Delap on the bench, until he calms down a bit (he was looking for a yellow yesterday making stupid fouls on Bournemouth players after the ball was off!). I don’t even want to discuss Joao Pedro as he’s a lazy twat not willing to run for the team or supporters.

Pretty sure he was talking about Emegha, not Guiu !

If Mheuka is not an option then we either have to give Guiu the chance to sink or swim by starting him in all our december games OR go with Neto up front.

The only thing I can stand less from this lot than their annual collapse in December is being lazy and not trying while they do it.

Both Guiu and neto put in shifts, Joao Pedro does not.

Ok, fair enough. I thought that he was talking about Guiu. I can’t comentario on Emegha, never seen him play.

We can try all of these options, but regardless of age, regardless of effort, none of these strikers that we currently have and those due to arrive are not good enough.

This is true to an extent, but the truth is that no striker bar Haaland is going to score 20 league goals in a Maresca team. It is by design that strikers do not score goals. Maresca's entire design is predicated on the fantasy of having 'many sources of goals', that creating a volume of lower-quality chances is better than creating the right chance for the right person.

I have no idea how Guiu or Delap are meant to prove themselves in a system that purposely reduces them to a decoy.

Spot on. This will continue to play itself out in this way regardless of who is brought in.

Mheuka and Tyrique George (instead of Gittens) should be getting more minutes, their path is being blocked by purchases that haven't even worked out.

In Mheuka, Chelsea have a serious player on their hands.

His finishing is already top notch, while his penalty box movement, link-up play, physicality and aerial ability all point to one thing - Mheuka is the real deal.

He regularly features in Chelsea first-team training sessions and it won't be long before his talents are on display in senior football.

I'd like to see Mheuka given a chance with mostly 1st teamers on the pitch at the same time, Palmer, Neto, Caicedo etc..

Even if for 20 mins initially.

Under Maresca and Blue Co. we tend to give them 5 minutes at the end of a match, or a bit longer in dead rubbers, but with most of our better players not playing.

Then we don't see them again for ages.

Even giving him half the minutes Guiu gets would be a start for me.

He regulary scores for Chelsea and England youth teams so what not give him a real oppotunity once in a while.

Apparently he's handed in a transfer request due to lack of opportunities.

Can't blame him a bit at his age he needs first team football for his development.
